Newbie questions re: booking

I am a new owner @ BLT. Soon I will be in my booking window to book a trip for next Sept. I am not quite sure how I do this. I would like to book a 9 night 10 day stay in a dedicated 2BR, standard view. Does a DVC "week" use of points mean Sunday thru Sat? We want to arrive on a Friday, use points for Fri and Sat. nights, then points for a week...checking out on the second Sunday. Make sense? But I learned here I can only book 7 nights? So what do I do? Also how many dedicated 2 BR standard views are there @ BLT? What are my odds for getting one for the whole 10 days. We really don't care about the view.{on this trip } I am learning so much here, and the welcome has been wonderful. I just want to know what to say when I call Member Services.

here are the basic options (using sept 15 as an arrival date for example):

1) if you want an MK view or something in high demand: call on oct 15 (exactly 11 months from your arrival date) and book 7 nights - call back on oct 16 and add a night - call back on oct 17 and add a night.

2) if you are less particular and in a lower demand period: call on oct 17 and book all 9 nights.

a DVC week is 7 nights in a row in the same season. there's no discount for staying 7 nights - the charts just add them up for you.

Thanks Charles, for your help today, and the other day when I was looking for great pics of BLT. You are a big help! I am not sure if the 3rd week in Sept is very busy, I 'll probably book the week, then call back, and call back again. I would hate to move those last 2 days...but we'll see how it works out. I'm hoping I'll get what I want for my first trip home!
