Newbie questions on hotels/annual passes

We may be going to Universal for the first time this July. Trying to convince hubby and brothers-in-law to stay on-site for 3 or 4 days, then going to Disney for 4 or 5 (8 days total in Orlando). I was looking at the FAN club rates that come with the park passes and it looks good but you have to stay 4 nights. Thinking of annual pass to get discount on room if only staying 2 or 3 nights. How many rooms can you book with an annual pass? Also what types of annual pass rates have you had in July for HRH?

I believe you need an AP for each room booked. July is peak season I dont think you will encounter major discounts. As the time gets closer keep checking for AP, AAA discounts on their website.

I called today and you can get 2 rooms with an AP if the second room is for members of the same family. Hope that helps.

I would re-check this. Last year we had 3 rooms and I asked about this and was told we had to have an AP, ENT or AAA for each room booked if we wanted that rate. When we checked in we did get checked for ENT cards. (BTW this was the very first time that they actually asked for the ENT cards). I think they are checking more diligently this year. Be careful. HTH

I have always heard that you need one Preferred AP per discounted room.

you are supposed to only get the discount on a preferred annual pass. Also, the discounts for the room are good for one family/annual pass. When i called to get a discount for my brother and sister in law on with my APH ( hubby and i both have one ) they said that we couldnt do that, that they would need a annual pass too OR my hubby could be registered in one room and I would be regestered in the other room. either way, 2 APHs would be needed.bSo you might want to call and see about that. However, with all the food/spa/room/parking discounts that you get with the APH it would be insintive enought for atleast one member in each family get an APH. Aslo, be sure to check out the Bounus Park passes on the universal site. these are only avalible on the internet, but its a great deal
