Well, I'm a newbie to this board but I've been to Disney World 13 times, so I'm somewhat familiar with it (although most of those trips were before I can remember much).

I'm getting married December 18th and flying out to Disney World on the 19th. We're staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter. My last visit was June of 2002 and Test Track was the new ride then. What new things are there since then?

How are crowds from the 19th-27th? Will we be able to get reservations at any restaurants or am I out of luck?

Any suggestions for 2 honeymooners in DisneyWorld for Christmas?

My Dh and I honeymooned at the World this past January. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and had a great time. Lots of new things since you've been - Mission: Space in Epcot (still haven't tried this yet) and Mickey's Philharmagic in Magic Kingdom (looooooove this!!) are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

As for dining reservations, I suggest you do a little menu planning (check out allearsnet.com for menus) and call and arrange some Priority Seatings now. You can actually make a bunch, and cancel any that you won't be using. We made one for dinner and one for lunch each day, and usually cancelled one of the two.

As for honeymoon stuff to do, I suggest seeing the Cirque du Soleil. Dh and I loved this show, and plan to see it again on our next trip. It's pricey, but well worth it. We also enjoyed some of the tours, especially Keys to the Kingdom. Riverside, which is just a short walk from French Quarter, offers carriage rides, which I've heard are nice. Mostly, just enjoy your time together. I'm sure it will be wonderful!!!

Oh, and be sure to pick up the bride and groom mickey ears that they sell all over the park (or at least the pins). These are sure to get you tons of attention, and often get you some freebies. We got a bottle of champagne on the plane ride (yes, we wore the hats to the aiport!!), free sundaes, a ride to ourselves (Splash Mountain - great pic of just the two of us), and tons of Congrats!! We were also named the Stars of the Day at MGM and got a free picture holding a Mickey Statue. Too fun!!

Congratulations, DisneyHoneyMoon!

A PS report should be first on your list of things to do since the 90-day mark is coming up for Dec. 19 -- http://pscalculator.net/allearsnet/pslistae.php

I know you've been a number of times to WDW, but a book that helped me a lot was the Unauthorized Guide to Walt Disney World. You could check a discount bookstore for a previous year's book rather than paying for the 2004. It will have essentially the same info.

Have fun! And enjoy!

DisneyHoneyMoon,

We honeymooned at WDW December 2003, 14th-27th.
Our first week there, the parks and hotels were pretty slow. Starting on Saturday, December 20th, the crowds came in! Hotels and parks were getting mobbed with the Christmas Crowd. We still had fun, but on a future wedding anniversary trip we plan on skipping Christmas week at WDW. (We'll visit near the begining of December.)

I do reccomend getting PS arrangements with restaurants as far out as possible. We tried doing a walk-in on December 16th at Teppanyaki and they were booked for that night, plus the following week! So we didn't get to eat there.

Have a great time! My honeymoon at WDW during the holidays was the BEST trip we've had there!
