When booking a reservation do you have to wait until you are 7 (or 11 for home resort) months out from just the check-in date of your trip or do you have to wait until you are 7 (or 11) months out from the check-out date? Thanks.

I wait until 7/12 months before checkout--since that's how things work.

You'll see many people on here who reserve day-by-day at 7/11 months before check-in.

Since we own at OKW, it's never been an issue for us, but it seems like it can be at some of the smaller resorts.

I'm sure others will chime in on this, too.

The rule is 7/11 months from check out, whether booking the entire reservation at once or booking day by day.

If booking Dec 2 -7 day by day, the first call is made on Jan 3rd, 11 months from the check out date of Dec 3rd for a 1-night reservation checking in on Dec 2nd. The next call is made on Jan 4th to modify the reservation to add one additional night: Dec 3rd (new check out date is Dec 4th, so the call cannot be made until Jan 4th). The process continues until the reservation is complete, but at each step, the member is calling 7/11 months from the check out date for that stage of the reservation.

He was an amazing little guy. It is sad that he passed away at just 31 years old, relatively young for a parrot.
