I just got ROFR'D on a 40 OKW contract yesterday. I found a 50 VB for sale today. I will want to spend my time at OKW. Please tell me if this is a good or bad move. Thanks :confused3

VB's fees are higher.
Annual dues for 2006 at each resort are as follows:

Saratoga Springs $3.98
Old Key West $4.24
Hilton Head Island $4.34
Beach Club Villas $4.48
Wilderness Lodge $4.61
Boardwalk Villas $4.69
Vero Beach $5.27

This is a big difference! You probably will be able to book what you want at OKW at 7 months out, but you may not be able to. Will you ever really want to go to VB? Would you ever want to pool your years to get a GV at OKW? I would not buy at VB if I really wanted points for on site WDW. We do own at VB, but also at BWV and VWL the 2 places that we most like to stay on site.

Bobbi :)

PS. I just looked at the ROFR board, you were willing to pay $84 for points at OKW and no points for awhile. Wow, I'm surprised. Maybe it would be easier to pass with a VB contract, but still, I would wait for a contract in the place I wanted to buy.

I didnt catch if you were already a member or not disneybass, but I have noticed that Disney is making it hard for nonmembers to purchase small contracts recently so you might have to pay a high point price to get around ROFR.

I am a non member, and you are right about ROFR. The 40 OKW was at $84 a point, stripped till 2/1/08. I don't mind paying a little more for the points on the small contract. I just don't have the time off to use a larger contract. Thanks for the imput.
