Newbie Question. WDW equivilant of FE?

Hi all!

3 years ago we took a magical 14 day Disney cruise and found the experience was enhanced by all the extras like the "Fish Extender" and Dismeets.

In 30 days we jump into our first WDW trip and I'm wondering if there is an equivalent at the resorts. I just read today about "Mousekeeping" envelopes, guess it's time to get busy.

What else can you tell me about to make us part of the "In the know" crowd?

Hi there! I'm sure you are excited about your upcoming trip. I haven't been on a Disney cruise (I don't know what Fish Extender is) but I can tell you about some additional amenities and extra touches you could enjoy at WDW.

When you check in, be sure to review the resort activities calendar they provide in the room. There are a lot of additional activities offered around the main pools, such as games, dancing, movie showings etc. Each resort has it's own activities. Kids really seem to love interacting with the cast during these events.

Tip mousekeeping (maid staff) towards the beginning of your stay rather than at the end. Leave notes if you need additional soap, shampoo, towels, etc. The staff with bring you lots of it.

Don't be shy about asking a cast member to take a family photo - they are great about that.

Decorate the windows and door of your resort room if you like. This is particularly fun to see during the holidays.

Enjoy your trip! You'll be arriving at a great time to visit Florida.

As far as I know there is nothing like FE at Disney since people stay at different resorts and the resorts are spread out. FE is mainly something that people do on the Cruises. They do have DIS meets at Disney. I believe that there is a board for that and people post the dates they will be and try to meet up. Hope that helps.

Jump on the Lime Green Mickey Head train!!

Typically, the mickey heads are Disney paint samples from Home Depot but I am under the impression that many Home Depots have discontinued the Disney samples. If this is the case for you, you can find templates online to print out. Write/type your username on it and attach it to your park bag. That way, any fellow DISers will recognize you as an ally.

The closest thing to a FE that people do at WDW is decorate their doors and windows. Some people like to put a white board on their door and invite others to leave their family a message. Have a wonderful trip!!
