Newbie Question any opinions in canonSX510 Coming Out Now

We are going to seaworld in dec 2013
I am a beginner. Will use auto most of the time. this new camera has 30x optical zoom and a 24mm wide angle lens. it records in hd with stereo sound.

I want video of all the Christmas shows at seaworld. the Christmas decorations at night. fireworks. etc. I need something user friendly with settings for fireworks low light and good zoom without getting blurry. I read a pre release review and it was very positive based on its predecessor and the new enhancements put in this model

Any thoughts for this newbie. It is 299 at staples till next Thursday. they were predicting a 429 price range.

You might be confusing cameras. The good Canon superzoom is the SX50. The cheap, budget one was the SX500

Now the SX510 does use a better 12mp CMOS sensor, like the Sx50, so it is probably an improvement in the budget arena.

For low light, you want a faster lens and/or a bigger sensor, like the S110 or G15, but you loose zoom.

For fireworks, any camera which a fireworks mode, attached to a tripod will do well. Its impossible to get a big flowery fireworks shot without a tripod, table or something keeping the camera steady.
