Hi - new here. I've been to WDW a few times stretched out over my lifetime .. lol. At age 4 &10 w/ mom; 17 w/ HS band;21 w/ family friend & 28 w/ DH which was his first trip. Now a few yrs later looking to take te trip w/ our 4 & 2 yr old DDs. My mom is going with we are planning on driving from PA. SIL, BIL, 10 yr old nephew & 13 yr old niece flying to meet us there. Planning on beginning of Feb. ..... so - that's about as much planning as we have done. My primary question rght now is "where do we stay?". All except the last trip w/ DH we stayed off property at hotel/motels. Trip w/ DH we stayed onsite at Pop & were happy w/ the convenience. I would loveto stay on site for convience, but economically w/ the amount of rooms we would need ... wondering if offsite, possibly condo may be better? But I've read some of the rentals can be nightmarish ... kinda like playing the lotto. I'm no sure if I'm in the right forum for this, couldn't find a lodging thread. TIA

:welcome: First off, I have to say that when I started to read your post, I read HS band as husband... at 17! :lmao: To answer some of your questions, if you want to stay onsite, are you looking for a place that all 9 of you can share? I don't know any hotel room that big in WDW. The closest would be the All Star resorts (we stayed at ASMu and loved it) with their family suites. They sleep 5 (some say 6, that would seem cramped to me but... :confused3), see pictures here: http://allears.net/acc/g_asmu.htm Just scroll down to the family suites section. Otherwise, for staying offsite, try looking here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15 Unfortunately I can't help with offsite since it's been too long since I've done so. Good Luck! :goodvibes

thanks! No, I assume if I stay onsite, or even offsite at a hotel/motel we would have to get separate rooms. That's why I thought a condo might work, plus we'd have a central area to hang out. I would prefer onsite, just think economically may not be the best option. I just don't want to get there & find some slumlord condo .... kwim?

Check the prices then check to see if you're at WDW during free dining. (see here for info: http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/packages/specials.htm#generalpackages) considering the number of people travelling together, two rooms onsite might (might) be cheaper than offsite plus car rental, plus parking, plus gas, plus food.
