hello,
i'm very new to this site but we're off on the eurostar in less than 1 week and i need a bit of advice. There are 5 of us going- DH, myself and DS 4, DD 3, DS 1. As you can see we have our hands full.
We are probably going to spend 3 days in disney and we are planning on getting an ap for my husband so that we can get a free childs passport for my son and then use the discount from ap on mine and daughters 3 day hopper tickets. Will this work out cheaper or will we be better off getting ap passes for us all considering they have children free.
Can you get a shareholders discount and a free child ap when you buy an adults?
Also in my daughter turns 3 on the 2nd day of us going into parks so, can we get her ap the day before she's 3 or do we have to wait?
Any help will be sooooo appreciated as i'm puling my hair out trying to find the best and cheapest options!
thanks
ppm

Hi,

I'm not surprised you're pulling your hair out :goodvibes !
Okay, step by step.
As far as I can see, and from everything I've read about the discount on park tickets for AP holders, thats only discount for one day tickets, not park hoppers.

As your daughter will be 3 on your 2nd day, I think you may have 2 options. You could buy a one-day ticket for you on your first day, using the discount from your husband's AP (although, he'd have to have his AP first before you could get discount on that ticket at the entrance gate of the park). Your daughter would have free entrance that day wounldnt she, as she is not yet 3. Go to the AP office in the main park (top of Main Street) and explain that your daughter is 3 the next day, and you want to buy an adult AP and get your daughters free. If they say you must wait until the following day, you can then get another one-day ticket for you (and one for your daughter to allow her entry into the park) on your 2nd day, then get your AP's that day (give them your one-day ticket for the cost of that to possibly be deducted from the cost of your AP too, although I don't know if that will work with combining the free childs AP).

Getting the one-day ticket on your first day would restrict you to only one park, but then on your 2nd and 3rd days at Disney, with your AP's, you can park-hop to your hearts content :woohoo: .

Hope this helps, and hasn't made you completely bald reading it!

Elaine, you've explained that brilliantly!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Go to Guest Services (to the right of the ticket booths) to buy your APs and there won't be any need to buy one-day tickets for your second day then as they will issue you with temporary APs to get into the park.

Thinking about it, make sure your DH buys his AP there on the first day too.

AFAIK you can't combine shareholders disount with the free child's AP.

Oops, where's my manners. :upsidedow Welcome to the DIS, pennypinchingmum! :welcome:
