HI! everyone.
I am new at this . We just bought points(our contract closed) and waiting for our names to be in disney system.(7days).
Just wondering if there any chance at all to get any accomadations for (nov 29th to dec 6th 2011). Our flights are already booked.(had to book early for a great deal)

I know its a long shot and december is a very busy month for dvc )but do you think we can get anything (studio, 1bdr.2bdr etc at any of the resorts??????

We would even do a split stay .

If not I guess we'll just have to book a cash reservation through disney!!

If there is any availability for that timeframe, I would expect it to be at SSR. But I think the chances are slim for anything.

I agree that it would be an uphill battle. SSR, maybe.....but I wouldn't count on it. It's a hugely popular time to visit.

But it would not hurt to try, especially if you are open to a split stay. Good luck!

Sending pixie dust your way! Get on the phone first thing Monday morning. Take anything even a split stay. Ask to be waitlisted.

I booked a Christmas trip Dec. 23-28 not even two weeks ago. I agreed to a split stay-3 nights at BWV and 1 night at SSR. I requested a waitlist for an additional night at SSR and a waitlist for 2 nights at BWV (in case we might be able to stay at our home resort BWV for the entire trip). The extra night came through last week for SSR :)

Don't give up.

Why wait for Monday morning? Call now; they are open. (but you aren't in the system yet so you can't call). But early Dec is really hard to get because it is so popular with members. If you get anything it will be a day here, a day there. One night in a one bedroom, one night in a two bedroom, one night in a studio.

I think when we bought in that we were told that we could call in that first 30 days or so after and they would open up even rooms that were intended for cash bookings. We didn't need to make plans at that time, so we didn't do it. I don't know if that was a special offer or standard offer.

Call, it couldn't hurt to try! You might keep calling back in the event that someone calls and cancels.

They are only willing to do that if you buy from Disney- the OP bought resale (otherwise they would already be in the system) so Disney will not make exceptions and find otherwise nonexistant rooms for them. Hopefully the OP did not plan on staying at DVC aand has other hotel plans in place in case there is nothing available through DVC (which is highly likely).

Try to book DVC once you are in the system. It may be that you can piece a stay together. I hope you can.:wizard:
