Newbie Flying out of Buffalo

Just trying to show folks how to save some money and visit Disney often.

When traveling alone or with one other person it may not make sense $$$ to drive a few hours to save money.

I fond it odd more folks, who have US airports within easy an easy drive, continue to pay huge airfares out of Canada.

The 4 of us are flying this March break out of Buffalo. First time using BUF and looking forward to it.

We saved almost $1600 flying out of Buffalo opposed to Toronto Pearson.
I'd drive 3 more hours if my only choices were Pittsburgh or Cleveland to save that much.

I don't understand it either. Last July we took the last of our grandkids to WDW along with one over-protective mother. One granddaughter had been with us before but had such a good time, she asked it she could come along. But this time, she was 18. That meant we had a flight for 2 kids and 4 adults. We got a seat sale on AirTran for $1600 including all taxes and insurance. Out of curiousity, I checked the same flight out of Pearson. It was over $4200. :scared1:

Glad I found this sight.:woohoo: We are flying out of BUF for the first time in March with Jetblue on the way down and the information on this thread is WONDERFUL. A question, the Sleep Inn across the street from the airport, is it clean and nice?? I really don't care about a continental breakfast because our flight leaves at 5:30 in the am on a Wednesday. I was planning on being there at 3:00 - 3:30 due to the high volume of business people in the morning anyway. We have a layover at JFK for 30 minutes anyway and will likely eat there. Something quick due to the short time between flights. Thanks inadvance for all the great help...

I'm from the Buffalo area and travel quite a bit for work and fun so I thought I would mention a couple things. First, the security lines have been pretty long lately (well, long for Buffalo but not long for a large city!). They are planning to hire some additional TSA agents but I don't know when that will happen. And for parking I always use FastTrack (previously SunPark). They are across from the airport and their service is excellent. Once I came home after a long business trip and my car was totally covered in snow. They told me to sit on the shuttle while they took care of it - a plow came along with a few guys w/ shovels and they completely cleaned it off. If you go to their website you can get coupons for discounted rates.

Hello Western New Yorker. Nice service you received from the parking folks.
As a frequent traveler to BUF any reason you don't use the Airport lots other than monetary?
I'm planning on parking in the preferred long term lot and walk to the terminal for our trip in March.

Ideas? Suggestions? Black Friday tips and strategies?

Actually, the one bad experience we had at BUF was with this designated stroller line. It was the first time we flew out of there and there was a big lineup and we saw the empty stroller line so we cautiously walked up and were chastised by man there for thinking we could "skip the line"!!

 I told my kids they are going to stay in a stroller until they are 12, because the stroller line is so convenient!!

Hi, when we stayed there, we asked for a quiet room because I had 2 younger kids. They gave us the third floor, which is reserved for pilots. Everything was clean, furniture a bit outdated, but we had a little bar fridge, I had my high speed internet, so we were all good:surfweb: They also have parkn' fly as well.
