Newbie - dis meet ups midlands

Hi guys! Im kinda new to the forums, massive disney fan, love everything walt disney world related but also the other parks in orlando.

Looking to see if there are any meet ups already out there in the uk, preferably the midlands but happy to get to know people from wherever! Thanks all!

No not really. If you click on a persons name it brings up some options.

Hi, where abouts in the midlands are you?
Im in Coalville near Leicester.

If you go to your profile, theres a networking section. You can add friends that way. It was used a lot a few years ago but not really used much these days.

Im from cannock, about 10 miles north of wolverhampton.

Ive managed to add a few people, its a shame the site isnt more user friendly for creating friends and communities to get to know each other better, especially here in the uk where we so far away from the magic!

Forums are a dying breed these days, more and more people want instant responses. They turn to facebook/twitter as its so much easier.
Ive seen many forums close the past few years due to inactivity.
A couple of years ago this section of the forum was so busy but people have moved on. Theres a few of us still around and I know every effort is going on to build more activity on this forum.

Its a shame im fairly new to the forum, and i think its wonderful, maybe a bit of modernising would entice people to either join or stay.

Im so jealous i have no idea when ill be able to make it back to florida.

Too feed my jealously when are you going? Staying? Doing?

Its a US forum with this UK bit for us. Its hard for anyone to get in touch with the admin to change anything.

Going end of August, staying at the Contemporary resort. its the only place we ever stay look on the trip report section, my pre trip report is there.
We're only doing Disney this time, so should be an easy trip.

Sounds fantastic, i havent stayed on resort since i was very little and stayed in the dolphin for a few nights and sadly i remember very little of it. Since then ive either stayed on i drive or in a villa. Both of which i love, but id love to have the whole experience of staying on a resort.

Im still waiting for my lottery numbers to come out so i can plan my next trip!!

I know what you mean.
I was on a slimming world site that was dying, I took it over even though I knew it wouldn't survive. The founder of the forum and the admins had left the site too. There were a few about but felt pointless keeping it open, so I closed it earlier this year.

I think one problem with the site is that you don't have to log in to read it.
Im always on here but hardly post much, will try and post a bit more. Although after this holiday we don't have any plans to go again, so may be a bit sad coming on as much
