Newbie Alert: Can someone tell me about the short stay vacation?

I know that is an option. My question.. because you have to book within 30 days... will I get where I want to go? Also. I tried playing with it online, but I cant figure out how to tell if something is available?

Effective 1/1/09 there will be a new system in place, due to the change from Interval International to RCI. RCI will be DVC's sole exchange provider, so the resorts will change and the website structure.
Unless you are trying to go somewhere between now and Dec 31 2008, no point in learning about it, because everything is going to change.

DVC is not accepting any II reservations after Dec 31st.
