Been online at the AAA website, and disney rooms are list with the AAA rate, that where not available with disney. If I book online:

--What is the cancel policy? most said 5 day / but some had listed a "cancel fee"? Anyone know what this would be?

-- I started to book online, but I presently have ressies at disney. I would want to get the "new" ressie in place and then call and cancel disney, But can I still book it first? I hate to cancel the disney one and not be locked into the new one yet. (both are AAA rate / just switching resorts).

-- The AAA web site does not give a good breakdown of cost, I went to all screens up to the credit card one, and it still never gave a full price? mentioned the tax's, and possible fees, but did not give it written out like disney does, Do you get this screen at finish, or just guess at the final price?

-- If need to cancel can you do this online?

-- Is there a way to make request? Only request area I saw was if I needed a handicapp shower, etc... . No area to write it in?

Sorry for all the ?'s just want to be straight before I go any further with my changes. Thanks soooooooo much! :mickeyjum :smickey: ::MickeyMo

Well you're in Illinois, so your part of the website might be different than mine, as my region is AAA South. But I'll answer as far as how it goes when I book with them. First, usually the cancel policy is the same as the hotel's. I believe this is stated somewhere on the site. So like if you book a Disney hotel it's usually 5 days I think, if you booked, say, a Hilton, it would be the same as whatever Hilton's cancellation policy is. Next, DO NOT cancel your current ressie with Disney until you're sure you have the AAA one confirmed with one of their reservation numbers. With the AAA site, you never know if you're actually getting the room until you punch in your credit card number, and it tries to charge it, and then it either comes back as successful with a reservation number or it comes back and says it wasn't able to make the reservation (which happens a lot). Let's see....next, no, it doesn't give the full cost including tax until after the credit card has been charged I think, but somewhere in the description of the room and everything it gives the tax rate, so you can calculate it if you wish. Next, yes, at least my section of the AAA site has the ability to cancel it online if you want to do it that way. And lastly, no, I just went through the screens, and there is no box for special requests- you would probably have to call the hotel just before your trip or tell them about any requests when checking in. You could call AAA and have a travel advisor help you in getting requests to Disney, but there may be a fee associated with that, using a real person. Hope this helps you.

Hi, Mky - Freediverdude gave great info.

I just want to warn you...I have a ressie at the GF and the AAA site showed availablity but it was WRONG. Call the contact number and get a local agent to call and book it for you. DO NOT cancel your current resservation. I almost did that (dah) and it would have totally screwed me up. I received AAA confirmation the next day from the agent that booked it.

Good luck. I just joined AAA too (for the discount, LOL) and am also a newbie. I was not too happy with our AAA site regarding booking rooms, either. Same issues you have. I am in northern IL, too.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

The AAA website is nothing but incomplete to me. I have to assume that you all get directed to a similar site to what my AAA Southern New England gives me. I don't have much choice for rooms (only 3 types at BC in November), no way to make a request for anything and a couple of times I have figured the room only price using only the info posted before you input your credit card, and rather than reflecting a 15% discount it was well over the room only on WDW site for same room/same dates, etc. Sometimes it is less, but not consistently. (Disney's site includes the tax with their bottom line price, right?) I could see going through a AAA TA as I'm sure I'd do fine then, but I can't imagine doing it online! I also like being able to book the package through Disney's site-- even if I am just pricing it to get the total for my comparisons. I'd never feel as if I had any idea what I was getting if I booked online with AAA.

Do you have to book through AAA to get a room discount? I have MYW free dining package for 10 days and need to add another day. I was just going to add the day when I got down there and use my AAA card to get some kind of discount on the room? Is this doable? Thanks

Frequently if you go to the front desk after getting there and try to add a day, they will tell you sorry they're booked. And, unless the rest of your stay was at the AAA rate and is already in the computer that way, they can't book a new room reservation and give you the AAA rate at the front desk. You would have to call CRO to book that night (which you could do from a house phone).

Thanks everyone. But I knew if I considered a change, the ap rates would appear and they did for part of our time frame. So will keep the poly with the (disney) aaa rate and then did do the BC special. So for right now, am ok. thanks. mky princess:
