Newbie!! 1st DW Vac , questions

Hi , booking a lst min dw vacation, I have been trying to get as much info off this discussion board but there is so much info here.

my info

Family of 4 ,2 adults 2 children (12/14) boy/girl
time : april 16 for 7 days

Mainly would like to do 4-5 days @ DW
and a couple of days for Sea world/universal studios (and and other attraction I have not thought of)

I was thinking of staying at DW, (but am also considering Bonnet creek), depending cost ect.

can some offer advise on hotels in DW (looked for a thread regarding this, but could not locate) How much should I expect to pay ?? sound like alot of people book these hotels with priceline/hotwire ??

read some place about a free dining plan ? is this available still , how do I get it ?

I would suggest going to the Disney Reservations site, and pricing out the on-site options.

On site offers a number of perks, including a ride to and from the airport and access to the dining plan.

But most of all, it gets you the EMH-- Extra Magic Hours. They're time slots when only the guests of on-site resorts have acess to a particular park.

I'm not sure of any specials being offered so close to Easter; Disney does a VERY good job of filling the parks then and probably doesn't need to offer a special. But if you're AAA members, speak to someone (either at Disney or at an AAA travel agent) and see which resorts still have the AAA discount for your time period; that will save you 10-20%.

To be honest, I haven't been to Sea World since 1990; each time we go to Disney World we find more than enough there to fill an entire week.

As stated above, you'll find enough to do right in WDW. Seven days isn't a lot of time to do all of the off site things you mentioned as well as a good tour of WDW. Free dining is not being offered during the time you are going. If you will want to be doing any table service dining, you need to look at getting those reservations ASAP.
