I could not work out at all what might be in New York style pudding (served in the New York hotel at breakfast)

So I emailed DLRP and recived a reply.

I was glad to hear that our New York Style Pudding met you expectations. Having contacted the Chef of the restaurant, please find below the ingredients of the recipe that he provided to me:

· 6 croissants
· 6 “pains au raisins” (similar to raisin bread)
· 180g of sweet bun
· 0,75l of milk
· 0,25l of liquid cream
· A touch of cinnamon powder
· 60g of raisins
· 100g sugar
· 6 eggs

So basicly its left over breakfast, I still love it though :thumbsup2

I'm very pleased they replied to my email and provided an answer.

How nice that they went to all the trouble of giving you the ingredients. A lot of places would just fob you off with a standard reply.

Glad you liked the pudding. What does it look like?

I have never come across New York style pudding. I now feel as if i've missed out on something.

The best was to describe it would be a sort of bread and butter pudding.

But its much smoother and a smooth baked top. With the cinnamon and all the butter from the crosiants and cream its much richer as well.

I thought originaly there might have been apples in it but I think it was the texture and the cinnamon that tricked me.

Its served in a very large silver dish with a lid that rolls back to cover it like a globe.

You basicly help your self with the large spoon into a bowl.

Going by the ingredients I sort of doubt if there is anything "New York" about it.

They had one in both the parkside and the manhattan restaurants.

It was there during my visit at the end of november, but as its served hot it might not be avalible all year round. (it was part of the normal breakfast and free not paid for like the cooked breakfasts)

Now that's interesting, I loved that when I went in August to the Hotel New York, now that makes me want to make it myself, knowing me it would come out like mush lol.

That sounds yummy!!! Must try it on our next visit!!
