Not booked in anywhere for today but we wanted to visit the American Museum of Natural History so caught the hop on bus uptown tour. Yet again the tour guide was quite difficult to understand, they seem to have guides that have very strong accents (not American, not sure what nationality!) they certainly know how to let you know about the tip boxes and how they are reliant on them as other trip report posters have said.
Paid at the self service machines and had tickets in our hands in no time at all, very easy to use.
Our main objective of this visit was like many others before us to find Dum Dum, see the dinosaurs and the animal displays. Wielding our trusty map we headed off.
Just a selection of the many animal exhibits which were absolutely brilliant. We took photos of each display but I will restrain myself from posting anymore! We had about 3 1/2 hours here only stopping for a quick drink in the cafe so felt we saw enough of what we wanted to see.
Back out to wait for the bus back to Times Square completing the rest of the uptown loop travelling through Harlem.
Called back in the hotel for a drink before heading out to find Grand Central Station and something to eat. Unfortunately I think we picked rush hour!
Stunning scenery on the way there.
Chose to eat at Juniors.
Unfortunately just behind us there were a number of homeless people sleeping which made me feel very uncomfortable again, us tucking into a meal and one chap didn't even have any socks on and shoes miles too big for him.
Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert so were going to get some to take away but they were a bit expensive so left it.
Made our way back through the diamond area and saw some armed guards loading a van up. Called in at Toys R Us and Ashley had a DS game he'd been after for his birthday so we treated him even though its not till May.
Impressive Lego models of the city.
