New York Driver

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone is new york saavy, and could assist me in some information about getting around in New York city area.
My son has a soccer game in Maspeth NY, at the Metropolitan Oval. We have to drive from Balto, MD for this game. I can catch a ny city bus which arrives in the theater district at 46th and 8th. Is there an easy way to get to Maspeth from there. Subway?
Just trying to think through an alternative to driving there... the map quest is pretty intimidating. If you can help me... please email me. Thanks

Subway is most likely your best bet. Bumping for the morning crew....

Maspeth is in Queens. I don't think it's on a subway line, but it might be on a bus line.

NYC transit authority

a cab would be expensive, but might be your best bet.

It's kind of a pain to get there by bus or subway. Driving might be your best option. And if you are coming in at a low-traffic time, the drive is actually pretty easy?

If you aren't happy with any of the mass-trasit options people are turning up, is there something we could do to help make the drive less intimidating? What time are you comming in - and what about the mapquest directions seem intimidating?

DO NOT FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS!! Pelham Bay Park is in the BRONX!

From 8th Avenue enter the 42nd Street subway station to take the A or C train Downtown. Get off at Fulton Street. Transfer to the M Train to Metropolitan Avenue, Queens. Get off at the last stop. From there you can call a taxi to take you to the Metropolitan Oval, about a 5 minute drive. A reputable car service to call is Four Ones 718-456-1111.
