Right now, the cheapest I can find is $86 per person. They're not showing up the dates I'll be leaving yet, so I picked a few other weekend dates throughout November.

I know I'll definitely be returning to NYC for a longer trip eventually, so honestly, I'm not really that concerned about seeing a ton or staying longer at this time... since it's a weekend without any time off school either side of it, it'll have to be 1-2 days max. I just know that I'd love to treat my daughter to her wish of seeing it, and at least seeing 2-3 of the landmarks. Or even just walking around site seeing. After doing some more research, I'm actually tempted to just get a 1 day hop-on/hop-off bus, and just ride around seeing things that way.

I am guessing you're in the Cleveland area? It's a less than 8 hour car drive, and I'm seeing $177pp nonstop RT. Definitely doable either way. And it's not a difficult city to navigate, even with no experience. So I wouldn't stress over a longer trip for any of those reasons.

You can do the south of Times Square stuff in one busy day, but not Central Park too I don't think.

Sounds like the organized bus trip might be the best option this time around. Hope it's a great experience. I'm another fan of exploring the MegaBus option as transportation for your next trip. If you are doing that, do a little research before-hand to make it go as smoothly as possible. There are a ton of articles/YouTube videos out there to give you some good ideas!
