Hello all! I know there is so much up in the air with regards to NYE at the parks, but I was curious if anyone knew anything about the countdown celebrations. I have previously done NYE at EPCOT, and it was a blast. I currently have reservations for EPCOT on 12/31 and show the hours are 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM. I have 2 questions for you lovely DISBOARDS folk -

1) Does this likely mean there will be a variation of Harmonious at EPCOT for the countdown?
2) If you had to choose which park to celebrate NYE in for this year, which park would it be and why?

I can’t imagine they wouldn’t have countdown fireworks in the parks this year.

When we’ve gone for NYE we always go to Epcot on 12/31….the park swallows the massive crowds better. Of course if you are there for more than a day you can get the full NYE experience in the MK on 12/30, countdown fireworks, entertainment, and all.

You have that right! Which is where I will be those two days. Looking forward to it !

Assuming there are NYE fireworks at Epcot, from previous experience how early should I stake out a spot to watch the midnight fireworks to get a decent view (be able to see around the lagoon)? I have a late dining reservation (9pm) and am worried if I’ll have a very limited options by the time dinner is over

Noon.
(And, I am only a little bit kidding.) ;)

A 9pm dinner reservation on NYE?
I don't THINK so, Tim.

Seriously, people start staking spots early afternoon. It’s insane! We’ve never done that and we’ve always enjoyed the NYE fireworks (been twice)….but if you want a primo spot on the lagoon you might need to.

Last time we did a late ADR. Nice to have a place out of the chaos for a bit as the evening progresses!
