We're driving in to LBV around 7pm on Dec 27 and the next
day we're doing Chef Mickey's bfst/Quest and Boma for dinner.
After that we have th 29th/30th/31st and 1st to cover
MGM/EPCOT/IOA/MK. We even have Pleasure Island and Blizzard Beach as possibles because we didn't use them from our last Hoppers. I know not to go near the MK on New
Years Eve , I expect IOA is the same so we'll do MGM and return
to our hotel suite for burritos and TV to ring in the New Year! DS
wants to skip MK alltogether this trip and go to Blizzard Beach-I
can't stand thinking about not walking down Main Street or watching the lights change on the castle. We've never been to
IOA-DS is 8 and 53 inches last measure so the big two rides are
out for him-I'm trying to talk him into waiting until our next trip
to go to IOA. I'm going to get the 3 day passes from Alamo and
either do IOA or Blizzard Beach(IF the weather is good). I have
2 one day admissions left on past hoppers if we change our minds and go to MK. Which parks are best for NYE and NYD?
We know they'll all be crowded-we're patient and have done
everything many times b4 so we plan lots of people watching,
laughing and line games. Any thoughts or opionions?
Thanks!

I've never toured WDW during this time frame so I can't advise you about this but I'll bump this back to page one for you. I'll bet some of our veterans can offer some great advice.

Hi, i would go to MK new years day since everyone was there the day before and Epcot or MGM new years eve day, i guess Epcot is the largest and it holds the most people, for new years eve. I've never been there at this time of year either, but were going this year and we are really looking forward to it!!!!! Hope you have fun!..........goof

We've been on NYE the last 2 years. MGM was definitely the least crowded. MK was not bad on New Years Day - at least it was far less crowded that the day before.

This past year we stayed away from all parks NYE. That was our "off day". We did DtD, swam in the pool and had planned to eat at O'hana's for dinner. The day was very nice but right around 7pm the sky opened and it rained for the rest of the evening. We cancelled O'hana's and planned to go to bed early thinking if we got up early New Year's Day we'd be up before all the NYE people would-thinking they stayed up really late. We ended up sleeping in late and went to the Magic Kingdom New Year's Day. It was crowded but I don't think as crowded at NYE. We had a great time, use FastPass wherever possible-that made everything much easier. We had friends who woke up in time for early entry (that day they had two parks with early entry). They did MK early entry and rode all the rides they wanted to 2/3x in a row. Then came back to the large crowds. We slept late and missed out on that but that may be something you want to try. We always stayed up late (the parks don't close until 11pm) so we slept in and still had a wonderful time without doing everything so "commando". This was our first trip and I don't think I would change anything. Our original plan was to try to do everything we could but once we entered WDW the magic came into us and we paced ourselves and enjoyed every second we had in the Wonderful World of Disney!! I hope this has helped you and I hope you have a wonderful time.

I would head to Epcot or MGM for NYE. If you feel up for it, the fireworks at midnight are really spectacular in any of the parks. You'll also be seeing and/or hearing the fireworks from all over WDW. New Year's Day will see crowds drastically reduced from the day before. FYI -- PI is a "special ticket" on NYE in case that thought crossed your mind.
