I've just been reading about the Cookie Diet - sounds interesting. I was surprised to see it's not a new thing... :surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:

Okay, I checked out the website, they are expensive. What flavors are the best? Do they really work, at least if you are trying to cut back somewhat? Since it is tax season for me and I am working at least 10 - 12 hours a day, it is sometimes long spans between meals, and this sounds good. Do you eat them all at once, or over the day? Thanks all for your help:)

Do you have a place to set up your bike indoors and put on a track stand?

I should get one of those for DSs bike. He likes to ride and hates the cold as well...

Exercise is always best for a diet~

The one I am referring to is:

http://www.smartforlife.com/

My friend likes the chocolate.. I am hoping when I go into their health center here that they have samples so that you can tell which flavor you like best.

Ohio, I used to work for a CPA firm.. I understand the long long hours and endless weeks.. (seeing as how my weekends were not my own) I know I always packed on the pounds during busy season!

On this website you pick the state you live in.. then cities will show up then you click on the city you want.

Not when you are on salary, luckily I own the place, so if it is a good year, it does pay off in the long run. That is how we are affording the cruise:cool1:

Hi Magic Mateys,

Aisling

I am so behind on reading posts as well a writing. I've missed you all and I will try and catch up before the weekend. Work has been so busy and the higher ups are stressing about not making our numbers. It's been stressfull and I think it's only going to get worse before it gets better. I work for a small but Nation wide company and our President is getting a lot of presure from our antiquated Board Members. Our company is actually doing very well and everybody is working very hard to get those numbers up. To be honest, it's like Menopause the Musical around here but not in a funny way!!!!:scared1:

At home things are getting better all the time. We are having an issue with Aaron and his now not wanting to go on the cruise. He wants to bring his girlfriend and Jeff (being the parent that always wants to be the "nice guy"), told him to ask her parents if it would be OK with them. Jeff's thinking was that they would say no and then there would have to be no more discusion about it. :sad2: They said it was fine with them as long as she paid for her trip. She can pay for her trip and she was excited about going. OOPS, I think I forgot to tell you that nobody asked me if I would be OK with her going. I am not OK with her coming with us and that's because it's very expensive and I honestly don't want to share a room with 4 adult sized people. Aaron then had to tell his girlfriend that she couldn't go and now I am the most Wicked Stepmother on the planet. I'm sure he'll change his mind after he gets done pouting!

I started this post at 8:30am thinking that I wouldn't be interupted till at least 9:00am but it is now 4:22pm and I'm finishing.

TTFN

Hi Debbie!!!

I am having the same issue with our usual NC vacation...Rose's daughter wants to bring an extra ten kids on vacation with us! With my husband being out of work (he broke both his elbows in a fall tuesday night after the flyers game) and my unemployment, I can't promise anyone I'll be on vacation this year...BUT, I am totally against it cause I know any chance of privacy or quiet time we might have had would be right out the window.

Whether they pay their way or not, I have no intention of staying in a "party house."

I am more of a chips girl.. Now find me a diet that I get to eat chips all day long.. and I will be in 7th heaven!!!

I'm a chips girl, too!

Stop bragging Nan! My cruise jar already has $39.50 in it!:snooty:

Debbie, I can see how it would be awkward with the four of you in the same small stateroom. Wow, that one sure backfired on Jeff. Thank goodness Jesse wouldn't even THINK about asking if his girlfriend can come with us, as this is what he'd get: :rotfl: :rotfl2:  :lmao: Aaron may think it's corny, but maybe if you remind him that there will be some guys his age on the cruise to hang out with, he'll be more gung ho about it??

Hi Robin, Kaz, Brenda, and Marla. :grouphug: Hi lurker Mateys!

Tig, on a serious note, holy smokes about John!! Is he ok? BOTH elbows! The poor guy, is he in pain?

it wasn't me saying that Aisling it was Ohio.

And for the record my cruise jar is flat broke. Hasn't been a great year for us. :scared1:

Tigg, sorry to hear about John's fall. I hope he heals soon. I'm almost afraid to ask, how did he fall and break both elbows????

yowsers Deb....well like you said; most likely he'll get over it....

i'm with you Aisling...Ryan would get the same answer as Jesse...but i think he really looks forward to meeting the new people on board - girls & guys....

I'm sorry Nan!! I meant ROBIN (ohio)! :rotfl:

And don't worry, it's a new year. I've been spending so much money, I really truly have to stop. I may join in on the No Buy February on the Budget Board. I tried it for January, but it didn't work, as I bought so much American Girl stuff for my nieces, and that stuff ain't cheap. And I'm probably going to sneak in a Universal trip while Chad's in Italy in July. I have to book everything by tonight if I want to do the No Buy Feb, as this is the last day of January!

What the heck is a No Buy :confused3

John tripped over a chain the venue had blocking an exit from the lot.
(Yes, I've already reported it to the venue.)

He blocked his face from hitting the pavement by putting both arms up, picture a boxer blocking a punch with both hands. He fell so perfectly the "end caps" of his elbows broke almost identically.

John is scheduled for surgery tomorrow afternoon. The doctor is putting bands and wires around the "end caps" to put and hold them back into place. He has to be casted for three weeks and then I can assume phyisical therapy for at least three more.

It kinda is just that...NC realtors put clauses in all the contracts that only families are allowed to stay in the homes there. We could actually lose our house. I wouldn't mind if that was my purpose for being there, but you all know it's not. I go to relax. Even my dogs can't relax with too many kids around. (There were half this many last year and they drove my dogs crazy.)

What the heck is a No Buy :confused3

It's when you make a comittment not to buy anything that isn't necessary, for the whole month.

No McDonalds, no movies, no new shoes for me as I don't need them, no potato chips when we already have popcorn in the pantry, .... you only buy what you need, and at the end of the month, you put that extra money towards debt or savings. I like to do this a few times a year to catch up with my credit card splurges.

With my husband being out of work (he broke both his elbows in a fall tuesday night after the flyers game)

OMG, Tigg!!! I had to read that about ten times before it sank in!!!! Your poor, poor hubbie!!! Sending him much pixiedust: for a speedy recovery...

Thank you for the well wishes guys :grouphug:

Aisling, that's a good plan to save money.

Credit cards are evil, I live in a cash world,
if I can't pay with cash-I don't need it.

We used to live in a credit world, my very favorite Christmas was the first one we had where when it was over - it was over. No bills after the holiday is the absolute best feeling.

Hi Tigg.. Sorry to hear about your dh.. that sounds AWEFUL!!! omg. how painful!!!! I cant even imagine.

Deb.. I too am an "evil" stepmom.. dont cha love it!!! seriously.. I would remind said skid that a TRULY evil stepmom wouldnt be bringing him.. so, you mustn be that bad. I have timeshare in WDW and have taken my skids 2 times. After the last time, when SS9 said he would rather be home.. I dont know when the next time I will feel generous enough to bring them is. Not to mention the BM doesnt give me permission EVER in those damn letters to seek medical in an emergency for said skids.. Its always an arguement w/her... Does SS live w/you? We have an EOW arrangement. I also know of a site you might like if the skid and bm issue is ever a problem. I know its helped me!

Hi Kelly,

We also have EOW and it is difficult since his mom is very much and "it's all about me" person and lets him do pretty much what he wants. DH tries to guide his son but also wants to be the "nice guy" and so SS still gets away with too much. SS is also an only child and likes a lot of attention. DH and I have only been married a year and it has been a rough one. I (silly me) walked into a household that needed major changes and I (DH is helping more so I guess I should say WE) am getting them done but there has been a lot of kicking and screaming along the way. SS likes the changes but only if it doesn't involve him in some way. SS parents like to ask him what he would like instead of making a decision. For example, his mothers Fiance is having surgery and she needs to take care of him for a few days (week days). Instead of her asking us to take him for a few extra days he wanted to stay at a friends house so she has imposed on them. We would have taken him but nobody said anything and he should be with us not them. I could go on and on but I won't.

Tigg, I am so sorry that John is so badly hurt. I hope all will go well with his surgery and recovery.

Hi everyone!

Debbie...

OMG.. I have been only married just under 3 yrs.. the first year was def. the hardest.. but it doesnt get too much easier.. at least in my experience. Your dh has guilty dad syndrome from the sounds of it.. MINE has the same.. wants to be a friend not a dad. Its very aggravating.. I used to hear from DH all the time.. "I only get 4 days a month w/them.. I dont want to have to be "on them" the whole time.. I rather not have them not like me".. ok.. but.. its ok if they dont like me.. because, I dont put up w/them being unruly. DH has 2 kids.. twins.. and they are CONSTANTLY needing attention. They are 9 and want us to play in their rooms w/them ALL the time. We will have played w/them for long periods of time.. then have to do something like make dinner or clean the house, and they complain that we NEVER play w/them. Ummmmmmmm........

My dh's ex actually assaulted me during our first year of marriage.. and ever since then (since she doesnt have to apologize, but I should let it go because I am the "bigger person") its just been bad when it comes to her. She pretends like I dont exist. I could go on.

There is a great website, a forum kind of like this... but for step parents! its called.. www.Steptalk.org

:grouphug: to all of you going thru "something" today.....those "things" with ex's is JUST SO not fun...it's so great when those children become adults & you no longer have to see or speak to them :woohoo: i haven't spoken with Jennifer's father for at least 8-9 years....:woohoo:
it's the greatest thing...sometimes i even forget he exists....
