Yes, Matt and his girlfriend Alex seem to be the same age as you and Chad! It's Alex's birthday the day before the cruise so hoping to get a cake for her - she's an absolute sweetheart who's very excited about the cruise... Sophie and Joe are slightly little older but not much and goodness knows we're all young at heart... I shall definitely pass your message on, Louise...

Yes it does . . . once it's paid you KNOW you are going . . . I generally use my end of the year bonus to pay in advance any vacations I plan for the next year, so this cruise sneaks in at the end of 2008. I suppose I could have cheated and not paid it, but it would have to be paid 90 days in advance to book online, so that's really not right!

I know what you mean - we're waiting on DH's end of year bonus to pay off our 2008 vacations but they've got some staggering scheme in situ this year! Goodness knows what that's gonna mean but it's tough times in the world of banking...

I had volunteered to head up the Fish Extender thing once we get to the fall . . . basically people would tell me if they want to participate, and their cabin numbers, and I would get a list together before the cruise.

If enough want to do it, we can even assign people different days to give out things so that we get things spaced out throughout the cruise.

Oh, I just looked at the website and there is a fish extender thing on there, so you may not need me to do anything . . . as long as there is a master list of who is participating, that is all you need. Closer to time, we will just email her with the info and it can go on the website.

I think you leave items, notes or gifts in the fish at other peoples staterooms~

That's right -- you hang something on the little metal "fish" outside your stateroom -- some people make them and others just buy an over the door wall organizer (that's what mine is). Then other people who have signed up leave little gifts in your fish extender over the cruise, and at least on one day you go around and leave something for everyone else.

It really only requires having the list of cabin numbers of those participating, a fish extender for yourself, and enough little gifts to hand out (anything from candy and little toys and stickers to magnets, pens, lotion or bath things, etc.). It's really fun to come back to your cabin every day and check to see if something is there! If enough people sign up, we can have 1 or more persons assigned to every day of the cruise so that the gifts are spread out.
