Kaz...so sorry about the trip to paris.....and about Dinah...Niner had a lot of skin problems too...so typical in Dal's for sure....good luck!!!

Thanks Brenda! :thumbsup2 And thanks for the PMs - I've added a couple of festive figures to my siggie... :santa:

...when I was a kid, we went every year. It's only 20 minutes away by subway from my house to midtown, so no worrying about parking. When my kids were little, we did the parade and especially the balloon inflations the night before, but they can't be bothered with the crowds anymore. The Christmas tree lighting is next week, and I just might go by myself!

I would LOVE to see the parade!!! One day, Aisling, one day... ;)

Meanwhile...

...I'm so in the mood for a slice of pizza! Anyone wanna deliver??:lmao:

...what toppings d'ya want????

Aisling...yeah i guess i SHOULD just laugh it off...nothing i can do so shouldn't let it bother me....a slice of pizza sounded really good....i haven't had good pizza for a long time....WW pizza isn't bad....but its not what i call "GOOD PIZZA"!!:rotfl2:

this year would have been a GREAT day to watch the parade at 56deg...that must be one of the warmer ones???i really do think i'll try to make it out for some of the NYC festivities next time....DD would enjoy that as well...

kaz...how did Dinah's appt go with the vet? i remember that Niner had some cream that we rubbed into his coat after bathing....but i thought he had something oral too....but not sure on that...he's been gone such a long time now....but i really do miss that boy - he was definitely my shadow....

waiting for my coffee to finish brewing...hoping to have a chance to shop for new coffee maker today....want to check out the one Nan has...but it wasn't anywhere that i was yesterday....

Seems it's some kind of allergic reaction - to what we don't know... :confused3 Vet gave her a shot plus she's on anti-histamines and antibiotics - I'm doubling the dose for the next five days to give her a boost. It's clearly distressing her so I just want to get it sorted asap. Poor lovely... :cloud9:

okay I jinxed my coffee maker. This morning it brews 4 cups...it was set for 10 cups. Something must be stuck in the line. So Sad :sad1: :scared1:

We have hard water here, I guess it's time to use the vineagar flush. No fun and stinky.

Sorry to hear of your doggie's coat problem.

Our dogs have been itchy like crazy this season too. Paul took Casey (the 15+ year old one) to have a bath this morning. She looks better. She is not doing so well these days. We suspect she is on her way soon. It's hard she wanders around barking all day (right now) at nothing. She barks at the door, we let her out she turns and barks to come in, but can't see the door is open so barks until we offer her to come in.

I'm off to get ready for a funeral today. Our school principal's ex-husband. Sad story died young, 60 something. I didn't know him personally but we are good friends with principal and her partner.

Paul is working on the tulips in the yard. Molly is helping, she is translating between the laborers and Paul.

Better move it, or I'll be late! :rolleyes1

ahhh...i was just online at Macy's...and they have both the cuisinart makers on sale for $80....soooo...i may order it (only considering the thermal pot) OR i may just make another trip up to that area tomorrow....i had thought about asking Dale to stop at Oakridge today on way back from Pleasanton...but couldn't remember if they had a Macy's or not....??? AND he hates to shop....so didn't think i should push it....

sorry to hear about the funeral...60 is much too young.....

Afternoon everyone!

Hope you're all having a good Sunday. We're relaxing here - well, the boys are watching a rather dull soccer game on TV and I'm just DISing... We had the kids and their partners round for an impromptu roast dinner last night and all that cooking can take it out of you when you're not expecting it! ;) We had a lot of fun - all the kids (and their partners) get along very well and the conversation was hilarious! We are going to be one extremely noisy table on the cruise... :rolleyes1

Put up a few more decorative lights around the mantlepiece in my kitchen - looks gorgeous, all twinkly and festive... :santa:

Dinah's still very irritated with her skin. We're giving her the meds and she's completely gotten used to that routine now. Unfortunately, they seem to make her ridiculously thirsty so we've had to clear up quite a few pee lakes over the last couple of days! Fingers crossed they work, that's all I'm saying...

Poor Dinah :(

As long as she's leaving those puddles, I can tell you she is not dehydrated~

Is she going back for a checkup?

I would go back for at least that or maybe even get a second opinion on the cause~

This visit was the second opinion, Tigg. She has had something like this before and actually it worked out OK, tho' I don't think it seemed so bad first time around. Earlier in the year she gave herself an infected leg due to repeatedly licking it -what a twit! Seems she's just that kind of dog... :sad2:

Our Mika sorta does the same thing. She finds a spot and won't leave it alone...we put a german cream (Penaten Creme - Schutzt und Beruhigt) on the spots whenever we see them. It stops her from biting and heals the wound. The funny thing is it's the same cream my MIL used on the kids for diaper rash. It's waaaay better than desitin will ever be.

Anybody here ever use the Kiosk to rent with Alamo?

I am curious to find out where they are in MCO airport...

I can use it and it's supposed to be mad easy~

My first dog, a broder collie (also) had a bad skin problem. We found a doggie dermatolist for her and got her taken care of. One of Casey's pups also had skin issues, she too when to the same doctor and to this day still has skin flair ups. They are so hard to treat. I think I remember the drinking alot too. Keep up the work with your doggie. I hope she will feel better soon.

Paul got the bulbs in the ground yesterday, today he is putting up the outside lights. I'm going to work on inside Xmas decorating.

We are getting our tree today at Home Depot, too tired to make the trek over to HMB.

Hope you are all well.

Hi everyone,

Kaz, I hope your doggie gets better soon. I wish I had a dog, but Mel doesn't want animals in the house. Someday I'm going to get one anyway.;)

We had a quiet weekend. Took Jesse shopping for MORE CLOTHES, I must be out of my mind, as I've sworn no more new clothes for him until he absolutely needs them. But this is it, I swear, as he just doesn't have any more space for them.

Chad's been working on papers/presentations for school. He's taking classes like International Peacekeeping and the Post-Soviet Republics. What happened to the long-haired sandal-wearing poet I'd thought he'd be when I first looked at his face when he was born:hippie: ???? I even wrote it in his baby book. I got myself a buzz cutted, Constitution-thumping Conservative Republican instead!!:rotfl:

I'm sitting here in my kitchen waiting for water to boil for pasta, and it's so true that water doesn't boil if you watch it! It's taking so bleeping long!

Jill, Chad went through his baggy-assed pants phase hanging off his body. He'd buy size 38 waist instead of his size 34, with no belt! And now Jesse wears skin tight jeans, go figure!!!! Gimme back the 70s anytime!:hippie:

About your Mel, poor you!:lmao:

Hey Custardtart,

My family has a dog.. still resides w/my parents, and the poor thing started breaking out a couple of years back w/bad skin rashes.. and would lick herself raw.. Turns out.. after years of testing and stuff.. she is allergic to human food.. or something in human food... so that said.. she can no longer have table scraps.. she does get some vegetables heated up and mixed in w/her dog food. My grandmother has the biggest issue w/the dog's diet.. my grandmother has demensia.. and keeps trying to give the dog "treats" that are not sanctioned... then my mom or dad or aunt, or sometimes even my sister or I have to yell NO!!! as she is trying to sneak it to the dog.. and then well.. she gets rather aggravated at us.. for "constantly telling her what to do" ... then she is mad at us for a while and then cant remember why.. and then is made for about a 1/2 hr longer after that.. before she fogets altogther that she was even mad.

Sorry.. that was an aweful long way of saying.. if you do feed her human treats, perhaps cut those out of her diet and see if there is an improvement.

Sounds like a plan~

hummm...ryan still wears his baggy...but at 6'1" & 130 - i don't know that they make any 'tight' enough for him.....just took him shopping yesterday - bought two pairs of jeans & a pair of slacks - both are 30W & he DEFINITELY needs a belt;)

I hear your problem w/skinny boys... My stepson is going to be 9 next week.. and is still in 7 slim.. although.. they are starting to get short in the leg... LOL!!! there is NOTHING to him.. he is SKINNY!!! his twin sister on the other hand is in a 10.. and we have to have her try on EVERYTHING bc we have found that things dont always fit her.. she is kind of round in the belly area... she also out weighs her brother by at least 10 lbs.
