Being pickled & snowballed is kinda cool:laughing:

Let me tell you now I want my DD & her beloved to go on the cruise, too.:grouphug:

Well, like Colleen - I am a photographer. I only do the American Legion, though. They are having a WWII dinner there to honor the Vets. I am on my way to take pictures.

Please post some pics, Jill. The life I lead now bears no relation to the (still) post-war Britain I grew up in. And it's good to honour and remember...

Great photos, Brenda! If I don't get to Club 33 courtesy of Dick's corporate connections there's going be trouble in Paradise Pier... ;)

Our family just booked the Dec 27/2008 cruise. We are a family of 3, names and ages at the time of cruise are listed below:
Me (Artman) Artie, 41
DW Claudia, 34
DS Owen, 8
We are from Nova Scotia, Canada

We are booked for a Cat 10 on Deck 2 with the late dinner, we are however waitlisted for the early dinner (it is already full).
So far it is just us, we had some other people thinking of travelling with us but we didn't want to wait any longer to book.
We are cruise virgins so any advice is appreciated, esp. any tips on favorite shore excursions.
Can't wait.

:cheer2: ****WELCOME ABOARD*****:cheer2:
you will LOVE this 'western caribbean' itinerary....our of the ports are fabulous...& just about any of the beach excursions will be awesome...I just did this same cruise this past April....we did our own walking/shopping tour in Key West, the Pirate Encounter in Grand Cayman, dune buggies in Cozumel & DS did the teen "wildside" in Castaway Cay....
there is a wealth of info on this boards as 'what to pack' - what to wear - etc. - and if you get a chance to read thru all of this thread you'll find we are a FUN group & looking forward to meeting all of you!!!

Artie, Claudia, and Owen, I have added you to the page 1 list, so you're officially Magic Mateys!

I booked almost a year ago (I think it was Jan.2007), and now I can't believe we're practically at our one-year countdown already! This will be my family's first Western, as we did the Christmas Eastern in 2005. Thank goodness for this thread, to keep the excitement going until we cruise!

Welcome Artie!

I rely on the guidebooks as well as the DIS for my information. Passporters, Birnbaums and the Unofficial Guide for books and WDWIG, The DIS, MOusesavers and Passporter.com online~Ask away if you have any specific questions, this group would be glad to help.

This picture is 3 pictures stitched together in order to get all of them in one pic. You might want to use your slider to see the whole picture

Welcome :

Artie, Claudia, and Owen

We have a son your son's age, he will be 8 (almost 9) at cruise time.

Quick Update on Baby Sierra:

She has moved from ICU into the next step down guess that's just the nursery, but it must be for preemies still, can't imagine that is the case. (Paul took the message for me) She is off oxygen and breathing on her own, regular air :goodvibes

Such good news !!!

Jill LOVE the Veteran Pictures. Do you think there would be a group that would like to have some Gril Scouts as pen pals?

Did I tell you guys that we spent last night on the USS Hornet a WWII Air Craft carrier for a Boy Scout overnight? It was great. I'm going to work on pictures now.

See ya later,

N

Nan, I'm so happy that Sierra is breathing on her own! She's on her way to a complete healing. What a relief for all those who love her! Thanks for the update.

And Jill, thanks for posting the photo of the vets. I got a lump in my throat when I saw it.

Tig, I can hardly wait to get my scrapbooking software. Years ago, I used to make personalized storybooks using Print Shop, and was paid a pretty penny, so I'm planning on getting back into business to make some cruise money. I just pray it's easier to use than Photoshop, which is really difficult to use.

This past weekend, I re contact-papered my linen closet shelves, got rid of some old blankets and linens, and now it looks so organized and nice. Today I'll be working in our basement, getting it ready for new carpeting. We were going to tile, since it's healthier than the carpet fibers, but I found a carpet type that has very tight fibers and is made for people sensitive to carpets. My whole house is parquet flooring, so at least the lower level will be more cozy with carpeting. Plus, it costs a lot less than tiling.

Rainy and cool here today. It's been like this for the last couple of days, and I could sure use some sunshine.

I can't wait until Nov 26th, when it'll be the one year one month Happy Dance to cruise time!
