We are going on this cruise and wanted to start of thread to see if there are any other DIS's who are planning to enjoy the Wonder over New Years?

Hello, My daughters and I are thinking of taking this. I have calls in for quotes right now. Have you ever been on a New Years Cruise before? I'm wondering how warm it would be and if you would be able to swim on the ship or even in Nassau. we were on the Magic in June and had such a good time I thought the girls would like this for a Christmas gift. They can't wait to go and my oldests biggest dream is to go for New Years. Let me know what information you have.

:thumbsup2

There are a number of posts on the board about January cruises and most are very favorable. The weather in Florida seems to be the only issue. If a cold front has blown into Florida at the time then the sail from Canavarel is going to be chilly. Once we clear the Atlantic the Bahamian waters are much warmer and the wind is southerly. They say the water at Castaway Cay is just fine in the winter as the water temperature only changes about 3 degrees from summer to winter.

Everyone loves the way ship is decorated and the New Years celebrations on board. We have travelled on the WOnder before and love this 4 day cruise. We will follow the cruise with a few days at the Parks. Our daughter is eleven and she cannot wait to get on board again.

Maybe we can hook up on the cruise? We are DVC members and will be staying at VWL after the cruise.

I will be calling my TA on Monday. My daughters can't wait to get back on the ship. They will be very, very happy.

Any other folks going on the Wonder for New Years? It is going to be a lot of fun!

I started a thread for kids. It's called 12/31/2006 wonder oceaneers lab chat. can your daughter check it out.

I will have her look for the thread. Thanks for setting it up, she is getting very excited about the cruise. Maybe we can hook them up in the Oceaneer's Club?

Glad to know there is someone else! We are getting married on the 30th in Silver Springs park attraction. Then off to Port Canaveral for the cruise! Can't wait!! :sunny:

Good to see other DISboarders on this cruise. We just booked ours a week or so ago...there are six of us going, and we plan on celebrating the new year right!
