Inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge-

Every month we have a new challenge under the same name.

January-Drinking Water

ETA: Goal can be changed to fit your personal needs (ie January: drink 2 8 ounce glasses a day, 4 12 ounces etc.)

Any ideas for February? Anybody game?

Remember all, it takes 21 days to make a habit of any kind. So we've got seven extra days to overachieve!!!

Ideas so far:
:wizard: no mindless eating (eating at the desk, vegging out in front of the TV with a bag of Miniatures or chips...)
:cool1: healthy breakfast every morning
:earseek: using a small salad plate for meals
:moped: parking at the farthest end of the lot
pirate: not eating after a certain time
:wave: trying a new low calorie recipe once or twice a week
:cheer2: trying one new type of exercise...bonus points for doing 2 for the month
:hourglass tracking what you on the challenge thread every day
:sunny: reading a book about healthy habits
:banana: adding a little exercise...example: when commercials come on TV, do 20 jumping jacks and 5 push ups

It's the 15th, guys! We're, like, half way through and doing well!!! New challengers, welcome!
 
tigercheer -- i'm with you! this past two weeks have been a blur and i have let most all my good habits to the wayside -- thinking Jan 3 is MY DAY to restart my healthy lifestyle. 64 oz of water for me each day in January

i'm sure once i embrace good habits again faithfully new monthly ideas will come to me!
 
Jan - I'm also with you on this one. May be a challenge for the first week due to driving with Erin to WDW and Marathon weekend.

I'll joing this--any accountability helps! I try to drink 100oz of water everyday. Sometimes it doesn't happen, but I get there most days!

OK! I will give it a try too!

Future Month ideas:

-Not eating after 8:00 pm (or set your own time)
-Add some exercise
-Try a new low calorie recipe once a week
-Use a smaller plate (like a salad plate) for meals
-Tracking what you eat every day
-Read a book about healthy living


Good Luck everyone! I haven't been good with water at all, so this is a good challenge for me to start with in January!

Oh! For January, I need to start slow because I haven't been drinking water. I will try for 16 ounces of water a day (I mostly drink iced tea--but the decaf kind!)
 
Another idea is:
Eat a heathly breakfast every morning.

My goal for Jan is to drink at least 64 oz of water daily.

My goal is to drink 64 oz. a day.

Also, just wanted to share...I am seeing a nutritionist now. She advised that you don't want to drink MORE than 1/2 your body weight in ounces, or else you will retain that water. That was shocking to me...I figured the more, the better.

Kim - I agree! I always thought the more the better, I've never heard that. Wow!

An idea for a future month - park far away in the parking lots! :teeth:

I'm in for 64oz a day. I've had way too much coke over Christmas.

Love the clippie, you did a great job on it.
 
Please add me in for 48oz (3-16oz bottles) water daily - thank you
a 4th bottle is too much for me

as you know I'm pretty good with the water thing, but I'll up my intake & set a goal for 72 oz daily--unfortunately, that is not more than 1/2 my body weight :rotfl:

Jenn--will not start the car parking thing until after winter :teeth: at least that's what I'm telling myself :rolleyes:

No car parking far out until winter is over. It's heck out there! Plus I can't drive yet...we'll save that challenge for spring and summer!
