Things are going to look a little different around WDW for New Year’s Eve this year. If you’re at WDW or just want to follow along, let’s chat about your experiences and what’s going on around the resorts.

Happy New Year everyone!

Can’t wait for 2021-2022 hopefully the pandemic is over and Disney back to normal

Really enjoyed NYE around the Poly. Obviously a totally different vibe this year - more somber, quiet, perhaps reflective - but still a great setting to ring in the new year and contemplate better days ahead.

I originally thought Disney’s plan to keep the pools open until 1 was a little crazy, but the weather ended up being perfect all night for swimming. Plenty of people still in the water after midnight. But the weather could have easily been way too cold for swimming, so we really lucked out there from Mother Nature.

Walked over the GF around 11:30’ish and the vibe seemed pretty happy over there too. Maybe felt like a tad more people around than Poly, probably given the resort being fully open and more dining options. But overall things around both resorts felt pretty low crowd and chill.

Incredibly thankful to the recreation and food/beverage CMs for the late hours and for working hard with limited resources to provide a great NYE experience. Many of the Poly activities and games were super cute and really had the kids entertained.

Happy New Year everyone.

We are at BWV with a view overlooking the green behind the lobby. We had a great night last night. People on the balconies interacting with people on the green and boardwalk. We had dinner at Shulas and then did a few laps around Epcot which was pretty empty compared to the last few days. We didn't leave the Boardwalk area yesterday so we didn't have to deal with any traffic. One interesting thing is that when leaving Epcot at 10 they were scanning MB and asking for room numbers so that only people staying at BW and Beach club could go over to that area.
