They have a new machine at MCO that doesn’t require you to remove your electronics from your bags. I would not recommend getting in that line if you don’t have time to kill. Even the skycap pushing some folks in the wheelchairs said he steers clear of that lane.

Oh thanks, good to know. I’ll be sure to avoid that lane when I’m at MCO next.

Is it slow because the TSA agent has to look longer at each image? Or something else? Is it on the A side or the B side? In the regular TSA line or the Pre-Check line?

I think it’s slow because it takes longer for them to look. We ended up bunched up on the other side of the body scanner waiting for our bags and you could see how long she took looking at each bag. It was the regular line on the B side. The left hand machine. There may have been one on the A side as well since there’s 2 lines over there.

Thanks! Flying out Sunday, glad to be prepared!

Can you be more specific on that? Is it at both A and B sides? Is there only one and if so where is it located and which line should we avoid since they tell you which line to get in to?

We were on the B side, so I‘m not sure if there’s one on the A side. I would guess they have one on each side. After you pass through getting your ID checked you go into a single line which then splits off into 2 lines. You choose which of those lines you go into. You can see the new machine is newer and larger. You can also see from a distance the bins for the new machine are larger than the bins for the older machines.

They also had one at Tampa when we flew in December. It was nice not taking everything out, but it did seem to take longer

This would be why TSA pre check was worth every penny.
Loved going through shorter lines and minimal hassle. haven't been back in the last year, so we will see if it still works as well.
