New World Of Color dessert party check in?

We did this on the first night that they had pre-assigned tables. We had a low top and could see pretty well. Kids on shoulders blocked it a little. Food box was great but hard to see what what you were eating because it's dark. We just brought our boxes back to our hotel and ate it later. The whole party seemed kind of rushed to us, we wish we could've had more time to sit and enjoy our food/drinks. They had beer, wine, and a cocktail available. You were offered 2 drinks per adult. They gave us a nice bag to carry our food boxes back. Cast members working this event were super nice.
I’m curious if you did the first or second party? I ask because when I did it we did the first party and it felt like we had lots of time to relax and enjoy our plates. Just wondering if that’s changed.

agree, I'm wondering what time the poster arrived? We did the first party and got there right at check in time, we had around an hour before the show started which I thought was plenty of time to enjoy our snacks and drinks.

I'm thinking it was because this was the very first night that they used the new system. They told us all to meet up at our check in location at 9:30 to walk over to the area with the tables. It took a long time to get everyone seated as they walked each party to their assigned table. It was about 10:00 when everyone was seated and the show started at 10:15.

OK, this is because you did the second show. I think the dessert party is a better value and experience if you do the first show because you have a lot longer time to sit and relax before the show. There isn’t as much time for that if you do the second show because there simply isn’t as enough time between when the first show ends and they clear the party area and clean the tables, and then have to seat the second party guests and when the second show begins.

Thank you for the feedback. I was also thinking it's because of the compressed time. The same delays as described would likely still leave 30 minutes before the first show.

Another question, are kids still getting the light up cups?

Same! We’ve practically been done eating the bulk of our dessert by the time the show starts and then mostly just relaxing and drinking a drink during the show

We have done both first and second parties and I agree with the previous poster that the first show is better if you want to chill at your table.

Has anyone noticed if they're still giving out light up cups to kids with the new WOC Happiness dessert party?

When I checked in to WOC dessert Party on the 14th I got a notification at 6:00 to check in. It asked if I wanted a high or low table .I had a special request about our table which I couldn't do on the app, so I went to the dessert party area around 7:00 and talked to a CM who was very helpful.

Can any one let me know when you got the text or in app notification (?) for each show? Curious if it's random or if the texts come through at a certain time for the 1st show vs the 2nd show

Has anyone done the check in on the app lately? Is it still possible to check in with a cast member? I am not super picky about where I sit but I do like to sit on an end if possible so no one is directly next to me. I'm trying to decide if it is worth checking in with a person or just take what I get and do it through the app since that would take less time.

I did exactly this in June. I checked in on the app but I wanted a table at the end of a row. I went to the WOC check in area around 7:00 and talked to one of the CMs. They made sure I had a table that worked for me.

Did this a couple weeks ago.

You can check in on the app at 6pm, for the first show anyway.

Note that you have to be in the park to check in.

We were at disneyland at that time and could not check in until we arrived at california adventure. I have no idea how seats are assigned, whether it's the time that you check in or the that you made your initial reservation.

When you check in it will ask if you want a high or low table.
We were only two people so we we requested one of the hightops that only seat two people. The bulk of them seat four people. They gave us one of the two high top tables that are in the front row. The remainder are in the rear. The director chairs are comfortable but it’s almost impossible to skooch in them once you're seated.

The desserts were fine and our server was awesome. As has been said a million times, its pricey, but it was worth it for me to not have to stand or stake out out turf hours in advance.

I've done the Dessert Party multiple times and had NO IDEA there were hightops that seat two! How have I missed this? Thanks for the heads up! Do you happen to know the table numbers for the two in the front?

The high tops for two people that are in the front row are on the ends.
So we were at table number one for example.
I believe the high tops in the front row only seat two people to prevent obscuring the view from the table top immediately behind…but most of the action appears above everyone’s heads anyway so I don’t think it’s an issue. Here is our view from table 1.
