I am in the process of writing my trip report.@MonocularVision said that they would report back when they return.
Just came down here to check in for WOC second show Dessert party and the entire process is totally changed. You check in in your phone now. You can choose a table (high or low top) preference and that’s about it. You get a notification when you can line up and you get either the “east” or the “west” line and won’t know which line until you get the notification.
Will write more up after we actually go through it.
Thanks for the update! What time is check in available via the app? And then what time did you line up once you knew the new system?Sorry! Meant to report back.
We went two nights ago on the 7th and it has totally changed!
You now check-in via the app. You can choose a table preference (high, low, or none). You will then get a text message on when to report back for the line. You will either get “East” or “West”. Both lines run parallel in the along the backside of GRR, where the check-in used to be (this was in a very slightly different location from where it was in January). We were then lead in the full line to the main area where we were checked in and given the wristbands and lead to our table. At no point was there any opportunity to choose a table. We were assigned way to the left from where we would normally choose but TBH; I didn’t care all that much. No idea how the assignment goes (order of check-in? party size?).
In my opinion: this is a better system. Far less stressful about getting a “good” spot (they are all good) and you spend less time waiting.
Note: I showed up a couple hours early and was confused by the lack of anyone. I talked with them at the check-in area (they don’t have tablets or anything) and they told me about the new process. They even read from a piece of paper they had since they said it was brand new to them. Very friendly folks.

I think I generally preferred the old food / presentation but I did like the box and the pin. Still worth it for us.I'm excited to see the new show, especially the muppets
How did you like the new food compared to the old desserts?
I think this will be better for us as well. When we did it in 2023 we did the whole rigamarole, arriving early to check in to choose a table and then early again to make sure we had time to eat before the show, and DH found it stressful and time consuming (I wanted a low table and had been led to believe there were just a few really great spots to sit). Just being able to specify low table and let luck decide the rest will make things less stressful.I have to say, this change is very positive IMO. One reason I have avoided the dessert party was the recommendation to check-in around 7 then head back again to wait in a line closer to 8. The prospect of only having to wait in one line close to 8 makes it more appealing to me.
I’ve done it three times and checked in at 6:30pm each time but only because I like to be first in line (I have to say, this change is very positive IMO. I’ve done both. The high top is nice because you’re above anyone that’s sitting in front of you and it’s just a higher advantage point overall. The tall director chairs are comfortable and have foot rest for your feet. But personally for me, they’re hard to move when you’re in them if you wanna Scooch forward to Scooch back. I’m sure and it’s just difficult, so I have to climb down to move my chair and then climb back up. So I think ultimately the low top is more comfortable. I’ve done a high top twice in the low top once and I think next time I’m going to do a low topDoing the WOC dessert party for the first time in July. High top / low top pros and cons? We are a party of 7 and realize we may be split up.
