New Wilderness Lodge

I can't keep the new names straight so I will just refer to it as the NEW Wilderness Lodge. Anyone heard updates on when those will be complete and up for sale? Any recent visitors get to see rooms, or are DVC tours still focusing on other resorts?

We are current OLD Wilderness Lodge members, but are interested to do a small add on for the new rooms. But would be specifically looking for the renovated rooms inside the resort - and studios.

They have not started room tours, or announced anything about room configurations. There have been no legal declarations or prep for sale as yet.

We did the DVC thing a week ago today...the tour was a Poly deluxe studio, but they are constructing a new room in the DVC preview center at Saratoga Springs right next to the Poly sample room. (I'm only assuming that it's a Copper Creek preview room) They are only offering sales at the Poly right now direct, but we did put our name down to be contacted when Copper Creek becomes available, because we want to be able to book inside the lodge proper and with the 11 month advantage. Our guide said he hadn't heard when sales would begin.

Time frame sounds about right. Still on the fence on adding on at VWL. Unless the cabins are more reasonable than the Polynesian offering, I fear the resort may be tilted too far towards the high points per night accommodations. It will make the 11 month booking even more important. I am not a big fan of the current DVC model which seems to be geared towards pricey offerings financed by that the majority of buyers who will never be able to use the facilities.

To be honest, anything a guide says needs to be placed in the category of rumor. Because these are material changes, they keep it pretty quiet until declaration.

Are you considering buying at Copper Creek, or Boulder Ridge?

We bought our first contract at BRV and are in the process of closing. I do think CCV is going to be pricey in terms of points usage. We love Wilderness Lodge and it seems to me like BRV is going to be the better bargain between the two....but we'll see!

I would think maybe by summer? The new pool is scheduled to be completed by then and they need to have at least one of the cabins done and the restaurant too.

On the fence for Copper Creek. BRV was very nice and we dug staying there last year, but with the expiration date so much sooner from our current home resort (AKL) I am not looking to jump in on a resale. I have a feeling BRV will be easier to get reservations going forward.

I understand the expiration hesitation.

I was thinking the opposite about availability at BRV if Copper Creek points are high in comparison to Boulder Ridge. I'm wondering if CCV owners will end up driving interest in BRV if their points will go farther there...will be interesting to see!
