According to an article in the St Paul Pioneer Press today, an Asian restaurant is expected to open next year at AK offering both full service and quick service dining in a "setting reminiscent of the western Himalayan foothills in India and Nepal." In 2008, "T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure" will feature "food and fossils against the backdrop of simulated prehistoric dinosaurs, steam, fire and ice". The article does not indicate where in WDW the T-Rex restaurant will be. I personally could pass on an opportunity to eat with animatronic dinosaurs, but the Asian restaurant sounds very cool! AK is so in need of full service dining options within the park!

Here is a link to the entire article:

P.S. Sorry for the duplicate post; I now see that Zulaya posted a similar thread, based on an annoucement at allears! Well, maybe the Pioneer Press article will provide a few more details.

Glad to see the notation about "setting reminiscent of the western Himalayan foothills in India and Nepal." That really does seem to indicate that it will be Indian food featured, not Chinese or Japanese food, as some have speculated based on earlier reports of this.

ooh how exciting, I'm always disappointed by the lack of Indian food in WDW

Sounds like an Expedition Everest tie-in...and probably a DinoLand too. The T-Rex just screams (or screaches) boys character meal.
