New way to help pay my DVC MF's!! Chase Disney rewards for DEBIT card purchases!!

Just an FYI, Chase is the official bank of Disney and their ATM's are EVERYWHERE in WDW! That's one thing that is really helpful while on vacation @ Disney, NO ATM Fees!!

I love my card and have already spent over $5700. I also combined my Disney Visa Rewards card with my debit card rewards, so both earnings are on one card. LOVING this!!

2 - I'm a Dave Ramsey girl! No more credit cards for me. Yes, you read that right. I'm starting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University in Oct & the first thing I have (want) to do is get rid of my CCs. Now that they have a rewards debit card I won't feel so bad to get rid of the cc- that was the only thing that had me a little hesitant, all those reward dollars.

You could just keep the credit card, pay it off every month, and enjoy the 30-day interest-free loan as well as the rewards. That's what we do.

Is Dave Ramsey the one who says that you shouldn't go to graduate school unless you can pay cash for tuition?

Also, Debit and Credit are different kinds of transactions. A debit card purchase requires you to enter your Pin # at the time of purchase. Debit purchases have different rules of coverage and benefits than Visa/MC purchases. I believe the fee structure is different also and may be why Chase is encouraging its customers to use debits instead of credits.

This is correct. Financial institutions receive a surcharge for both types of transactions, but the surcharge is higher for credit transactions. I work for a financial institution and they encourage us to use our debit cards as credit transactions instead of pin-based for this reason.

I personally am glad that they are offering the debit option.

I already pay it off at the end of every month- I never keep a balance. The problem with CCs is you are not in as much control with them as you are with cash. You'll spend a lot more & go off your budget with a CC.

I don't know that I've ever heard him say to only go to college if you can pay cash. However, due to him my parents are debt free, have thousands in an emergency fund & have their mortgage paid off. So I'll take whatever advise he offers. :)
