Hi all,

The wife and I would like to travel to Disney in April and stay for 3 or 4 days ...

We've looked online for various Hotel, ticket deals but are skeptical at some of the rates we've seen (curious about the fine line info) ...

Can some of you provide me with your cost effective past trips and where you stayed, the type of tickets to get, prices, etc ...

I need all the help I can get in planning our first trip to Disney in Florida ...

Thanks,
TIM

I would suggest staying on property...You can get a value resort such as All Star's or Pop Century, for about $100 a night. Also, you can save a little on this by using AAA (at least we do).
I would suggest research on this site...and alot of it. Then go to www.disney.go.com and look at packages. I suggest the Dining plan as a option too. You can design your package your way...give it a test run just to get an idea of price.

You didn't give your dates in April. Rates are divided into 5 price catagories: Value, Regular, Summer, Peak and Holiday. The first part of April is considered Peak Season ($119 for a stand. room/value resort). The second half is Regular Season ($99 for stand. room/value resort). The same room is only $82 during the Value Season. These are rack rates (no package). If you want to save the most amount of money, consider changing your dates to fall within the Value Season. I second themudd4's advice about AAA. It'll save you quite a bit.

A few suggestions:

I too have used the AAA rate at the value resorts. Also signed up at DisneyParks.com. They will occasional send out emails of ongoing specials.

As another person posted, allears.net has great information.

Another great site is Mousesavers.com - you can sign up for there monthly newsletter full of deals. Also they have a ticket broker (Undercover Tourist) you can purchase discount park tickets from. Check it out!

I've saved lots of money from AAA and mousesavers. Great tools!
Good luck and happy vacationing. :wizard:

P.S. - I also save money buy buying park only tickets (meaning they are not hopper's) on a short 3/4 day it worked great and saved us money. Just a thought.

if you're planning on an April trip, HURRY! We planned our April (spring Break CSR) trip last July and booked it in September! You might want to contact your local travel agent, they can sometimes get decent last minute deals. Good luck!:thumbsup2
