New to Universal/AoA- questions about tickets and app

Disney and MDE pro....but I think I made the assumption that their app was similar to MDE. We purchased tickets for the summer and when I started to scan them into the app (assuming that we would have our families tickets all scanned in and assigned like "Friends and Family") I noticed that they are entering in as my name even though I entered the 2nd one as my husband's name. I didn't get passed the 2nd one once I noticed this.

Is this just standard? How do the names get assigned? Is it just easier to have them printed since the younger kids don't have phones? But they all need to be entered to do a virtual queue correct?

Unless policy has changed, the tickets are in your name and at the entrance/ turn style gate, family members will sign the back of the UO ticket pass.
The tickets are then assigned to them to use as they are then activated.
