Hi... I have just about read this entire camping forum from cover to cover... I have enjoyed it very much.

My family and I are visiting FW for the 3rd time (2005, 2007) coming up the last week of October. When I called to make reservations several weeks ago.. the only thing left remaining was 100-300 and 1600-1900. Everything else was booked. Our favorite loop is 1300... so we were a bit sad. I reserved a preferred non-pet loop... which narrows it down to 100 or 200. I did see a photo of a site in 100 and also read that 100 gets a lot of foot traffic... can someone give me more information? We do love walking to the beach... but also love the pool, but it looks like we'll be riding our bikes to the pool.

Also... another question I haven't found the answer to... My in-laws have decided to meet us at WDW, but are staying off-site in a hotel. Will they be able to visit us at our campsite? They wanted to eat with us a few nights that we grill out and watch the grand-kids swim and ride the searaycers... Would they be able to take the boat over to MK with us? We bought tickets to the Mickeys' halloween party for Oct 29th (for the first time)!

We are so exited.. and reading the forum and seeing all the photos has just really helped me pass the time... Oct seems so far away... We are :woohoo:counting the days.

Thank you very much!!

Loop 100 is a busy loop with lots of people on foot and on carts but very close to the beach, marina,TE, and the Settlement Outpost. The walk to the pool and the campfire is not a bad one either. Bringing you bikes will speed up you movement around the the Fort.

First, welcome to the Disboards.

The 100 and 200 loops are actually old favorites of a lot of folks, so you should not be concerned about being placed in one of those loops. You will be as close as you can be to the Settlement area. True, you will be a hike from the pool, but it isn't that far, especially if you have bikes.

Yes, you can have visitors at your site, and they can use WDW transportation. They cannot drive to your site- they will have to park in the overflow lot up front, and take a bus back. But, they can do that with no problem whatsoever. If they are not staying overnight, they do not need to be on your reservation to visit.

Any other questions? Ask away!

In regards to your family visiting you at the site I thought i would just throw in that having a golf cart may be helpful in getting your family to your campsite. Waiting for the buses can SOMETIMES be a lengthy process :sad2:and if they are going to be coming back and forth fairly frequently it may be worth considering. My parents come and stay in the cabins and we sstay in the camper with the kids. Though we always suggest to be close it has never seemed to happen so we are doing the golf cart thing this year.

Since you have read over the Camping Forum you should know about the offsite golf rentals which are a MUCH better deal than Disney's.;)

Good luck and enjoy the trip!!!

I always thought if they have a parking pass or are on the visitor list they would be allowed thru the gate. As long as there is no other vehicles on the site as well.

Whoops, Stacktester is right about that! And, actually, that is not a bad idea. If the OP has a car at her site, she could move it to the overflow lot, and leave a space for her visitors to come right to the site. That is a great idea. It would make it much easier on the visitors. You all could walk to the marina from your site, and after visiting the MK, your visitors could walk back with you, and then take off without having to worry about catching a bus.

That is GREAT. We are driving the RV, so that will be the only vehicle at the site. We never bring a car as we use Disney Trans for everything. So.. that will work. Do I ask for a vehicle pass? or will they just give me one? That would be easier for them. Thanks!

They will give you a parking pass for the motorhome when you check in. Tell the host that you will be having some day visitors, and that you would like another pass. Should be no problem. When your visitors arrive, they will just need to show photo ID and tell the guard that they are there to visit you. They should be let in with no problem. When they get to your site, give them their pass, and you are good to go.
