The schedule is not out yet for May/June 2015. Could anyone tell me when to expect it? And do they have an itinerary that goes to Honduras and Belize and maybe one other port? Cozumel, maybe? I hate to say it, but like Carnival? We've sailed with them before and while it was no Disney by any means, it was ok for what we paid. I have a 12 yo DGD and I'd like to branch out to Royal Caribbean. I think that might be a better fit for her. My DD wants to sail out of New Orleans (like Carnival) so she can experience some night life. That's on her bucket list. I'd rather not go on Carnival again….

Could anyone help? Or any other suggestions you have. Thanks!!

OK, I just read that someone else had booked for Jun 2015. I must have not been searching right. I found some. But I haven't found the itinerary I'm looking for. I guess I'm SOL….

Schedule is out until 2016, unfortunately there are no ships that are stopping in Belize in May and Jun 2015 (some in April). The Independence of the Seas has 7 day cruises available it is the Western Caribbean leaving from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Goes to: Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Seranade of the seas sails out of New Orleans but the last cruise for the start of 2015 is April 11th, an 11 day to Boston, then she heads to europe for the summer on the 24th of April, and back in November.

Sounds like a nice trip.

Thanks so much! I guess my DD is out of luck unless she wants to go on Carnival. My DGD just said she doesn't want to go on Carnival, she'll just stay home. Wait, where are we going?? :lmao:

We did Western Carribean our of Galveston on Voyager of the Seas ( a different ship is doing this itinierary now) We stopped at Roatan, Belize and Cozumel. It was one of the best cruises we have taken. Loved Roatan and Belize.

The dates for Galveston were released on Wednesday so check again. We just booked for the beginning of July and we have the ports you mentioned. The ship is Navigator of the seas and it just had a huge renovation. It is a voyager class ship but they added the flow rider and some other stuff.

I have a courtesy hold on a cabin on Navigator of the Seas Aug 24-31.

I am concerned that there will be a fee for things my 16 year old may want to do.

We have cruised many times on DCL but this will be the first time on RC.

Is there much to do on this ship? I see some ships have characters but not this one?

We just gig the Navigator earlier this month. Flowrider, rockclimbing, ice skating are all free. Almost all of the kids club activities are free. DS is 15 and Royal Caribbean is his favorite cruise line, especially now that he is older. We have done DCL many times in the past when he was younger. I think your teen will have a great time on Navigator.

That is good to know. Was the food in the regular (no extra charge) restaurants good? Was the service good as well?

I guess part of my concern comes from a HORRIBLE experience I had on Norwegian a few years back. There were some meals that were so horrible, I had to send them back. I had a piece of chicken that was so old, you could not tear it apart with your hands. :scared1: So I think I am a bit gun shy.

How did you get to the port? I am looking at my options and they are all pretty expensive due to the distance.

Dh and DS liked the food on Freedom. I had been sclur before the cruise and had almost no sense of taste and smell (could taste chocolate and coffee) so I can't be relied on. :) We paid nothing extra for food except for at Ben and Jerry's.

Where are you coming from? RCCL has a shuttle from the airport. We took a limo because we were coming from universal and had too much luggage for a towncar (so they said) and DH wanted to take a limo. :)

We are flying into Houston and the ship leaves out of Galveston TX. I notice that the car rentals are not conducive to dropping a car near the port and getting a shuttle. That is what we normally do in Florida.

RC today is what Carnival was ten years ago. Carnival has gone from good to poor. RC provides the most bang for the buck. They offer better service and value when compared to Carnival.

Please don't say that! We sailed on Carnival Triumph when it was brand new back in 2001. Hated it so much we swore off cruising for 11 years, when friends convinced us to try DCL. We love DCL and are now willing to give RCCL a try. I hope it is not like Carnival 10 years ago!
