My wife and I are looking at going to a disney resort for the 4th of July, here are our plans, what would you recommend,
Visit parks for two days, hang out by nice pools rest of time.

Would like to travel as cheap as possible.
And are interested in doing a split stay, possible two nights a AKL and one at a "beachy" resort.
Any info would be GREATLY appreciated !
Thanks,
John

At this point, if you mean for this year, you might run into a problem with many resorts already being sold out.

The Boardwalk and Beach Club are the two "beachiest" in the deluxe category, and the location is perfect, a short stroll to Epcot. They are not going to fit into "budget" accomodations though. If rooms are available, expect to pay over $300 a night plus tax.

AKL and Beach Club or AKL and Carribean Beach Resort may be good choices here. CBR would be cheaper of course. You will not be traveling cheap with AKL and certainly add to it with Beach Club.

2 days at POP (saves lots $$$)
1 day (4th of July) POLY LV (use saved money from staying at POP)

As u have written in your post "would like to travel as cheap as possible", i think that it would be very nice to end your vacation with a blast, staying at Poly LV (Lagoon view), this way you could sit out on your balcony with your wife, enjoying a glass of wine, and see the 4th of july fireworks from your balcony.

Hope this helps! :wizard: :wave2:

CBR Resort is Sold Out for the Actual 4th of July Holiday I believe, as are the majority of the Disney Hotels. The Deluxe Resorts seem to be pretty much the only ones with availability for the actual Holiday.

I Just Applied for the Disney Visa Last Night, and hoping it gets here next week, b/c I want to change my res. to the CR Tower Room. I don't think All Star is gunna cut it for me. One Can Only Hope!

Good Luck in your Planning..

PS: If you haven't booked airfare I'd STRONGLY consider doing that SOON. By Next Week I'm sure prices will be going sky high.

Hi John, and welcome to the DIS!

I suggest you browse through these pages and check out the amenities of the various resorts before you make a decision. Scrolls down the left side of the page and click on each resort for details.

But, as Anne (Ducklite) said, if you are talking about next weekend you may be out of luck. If you want to go next week you may just have to take whatever resort is available.

Good luck,

Bob

Strange as it is to me - there is lots of availability at the resorts still. I will be there from July 1-4 (That's the Fri-Mon) and I've been checking and have been so surprised at the availability (at least at the Deluxes). I was even able to upgrade my room from garden view to lagoon view at the Passholder rate :Pinkbounc
