I'll be going with my parents to WDW next weekend. This is their first trip to WDW, my first time being at the campgrounds. They have ressies for their motor home but I'm not sure whether we have to request a certain loop or if we just get assigned somewhere. If we need to request something specific how soon do we call?

Is the bus system easy to navigate within FW? I can handle WDW's transportaion elsewhere but within FW I'm confused. I read there are color coded buses that take you to different outposts? Seems like somthing that my father will gripe about so I'm hoping it'll be easy to figure out. We'll be wanting to get to MK and Epcot and a couple of the monorail resorts.

Is bug repellent neccesary during this time of year as we'll have little ones who'll want to attend the campfire.

Thanks so much for any info you can offer!

The internal transportation is extremely simple: one direction goes to the outpost, the other direction goes to the settlement/marina. Buses have lit signs that tell you where they are headed.

If you are going to a park/DTD, catch the appropriate bus at the Outpost.

You can also take the boat at the marina across to the Contemporary or MK.

Though we've never had a problem, we always bring repellant.

We'll be there next weekend, too! Maybe we'll see you Saturday at the campfire.

If you want to request a certain loop, call and do it now, otherwise you will be assigned one. I am not the best one to explain the transportation system. They do have internal busses that run from the front (outpost) to the back (settlement??) This is where the marina is to get on the boat to the MK, which I highly recommend doing. You can also get on the MGM bus from the settlement. All other parks, you will take an internal bus to the outpost and wait for another bus to take you. You may find it easier/faster to drive to all the parks except MK if you have a car. You will be given a transportation guide at check in that explains it all. Have a fun trip!

All of the bus stops have a large map and legend to show which bus to take. Once you figure our which color stops at your bus stop, then use the map to find out which direction you want to go to get to park bus. For us it is very convenient not to have to drive to the parks. Others like to drive and parking is free to resort guests. We have never asked for a specific loop and have been happy with every site that we have had -but we have a pop up that does not take as much space. We love FW - great atmosphere.

Busses can be confusing. Everyone above is right, but you're still confused, right?

I boiled it down to something rather easy to remember. Busses at the loop stops go to the front or back. The busses that leave the Settlement (the back) go to stuff around the original Monorail loop. Busses that leave the Outpost (the front) go everywhere else. There may be an exception or two, but easier to remember an exception or two than a whole bunch of stuff. And of course, it changes every now and again.

And a piece of advice that's kind of mentioned above. The boat to the Magic Kingdom is a good first leg of any trip. They run freqeuntly, and lots of folks leave the Magic Kingdom to go other places, so it's easy to head other places from there.

See you there, arrive the 30th ourselves for three nights. Michigan plate "WNEBAGO" on a 2004 Adventurer.

Thank you all for your advice. I know it will help make things easier for us.
