We are going to DLR for the first time ever the third week in July and I see so many posts for it. Am I going to miss out on something special?
I don't mind paying a high price for really good food (i.e. Napa Rose), but I disagree with that description of BB's food. It is overpriced and mediocre. I think what you are really paying for is the atmosphere and that alone is worth it in many people's minds. It is a cool place to eat.
We had lunch there a year and a half ago last. Our lunch with tip was around $160. For $160, my dish was terrible (avoid the mahi mahi), my kids both hated their meals and barely ate them. My husband's prime rib was very good (not the greatest ever), however. The dessert was very good (the cookie boat thing). If you do go, order safe (prime rib, short ribs, monte cristo, or some pork thing that some seem to like on here) and pay the $4 for a split plate charge to keep your costs down.
What is with those rolls? I personally prefer mine a little softer than a rock. To each his own, I guess.Just don't ask me about the rolls!
