new to DL places to eat and things to see and do

Hubby and I will be doing the West coast Disney in Sept and Oct. We will come in Sept and stay 1 night at PP. I have a 1 day unexpired WDW ticket that we plan to use. We hope to check in the hotel around 130pm take a quick swim and head to the main park. I hope to catch a parade. We will go to Guest Services and get our first time visitor buttons. We would like to go to Pirates, Haunted Mansion if open and splash and just see the sights of DL. What are the best places for souviners? We then plan on having diner at the Rainforest Cafe at 830pm. Always wanted to eat here but never gotten too. For breakfast we will do the Lilo and stitch prior to going to the port. We hope to have breakfast at 9am with 1030am pick up. For the retrun trip we have 3 nights with the meal plan Donalds. One day I think Sunday we plan on doing Walt's Tour so lunch will be included. What are some good places to eat. It will also be our aniv on Monday. What are some neat things to do and see at DL?

You absolutely must do the Indiana Jones Adventure. It has the same track layout and vehicle as Dinosaur, but that's where the similarity ends. Use FastPass if at all possible.

it is to my understanding that you can not use wdw tickets at disneyland due to the difference in price and what it covers.

I believe you CAN use WDW at DL because they are more expensive but you can NOT use DL tickets at WDW.
