We are planning a first trip to Disney with our 10 year old daughter for Sept or October. We are overwhelmed by the resort choices. Usually, we opt for the nicest hotel we can afford--even a suite with concierge when possible. However, our budget for this trip is tight and I kind of like the idea of a quiet retreat after the over the top stimulation of the parks and attractions. In my younger years I loved tent camping (not the RV type at all--more rustic), but now in my mid 40's probaby couldn't crawl in and out of a tent without needing physical therapy after. I definitely need the basic comforts of home like a bed, bathroom and a/c. Although our daughter might THINK she would prefer a themed pool, renting a pontoon boat, quiet times fishing, and smores around campfire sounds very special in its own way too.
We would definitely rent a car to get around and probably a golf cart too. The price of these cabins is similar to a moderate Disney resort so is it worth it for just the 3 of us? Do people still do a meal plan with these cabins? I have no intention of cooking anything more than coffee and cereal for breakfast.
So, given all that...might we like a cabin at FW? Whats the weather like in oct?
Thanks.
