New to Disney Camping A Question for the Experienced

Hi,
I am looking into planning a few nights at FW. We are experienced campers but we have not camped at Disney. My DH and I live locally so we would most likely only camp for a night or two. Is booking direct through Disney for 2 nights in Value season the cheapest way to go? I have heard of AAA but I didn't know if that would apply during Value season. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I would call Disney's Central Reservation number directly and ask for the AAA rate for the time period you are going. Tell them you want a "room only rate"....this will not include park tickets..and not be booked as a package. I know I got a rate of some $45.00 or so for value season last year.(only we didn't get to go..but that's another story.). In the past you only had to send your one nights deposit and pay the rest when you got there. Don't know if it's changed since last year. You need to have the AAA card when you get in from I'm told.

Remember to ask about the Florida Resident Specials as well, since you are local they have all kinds of deals on tickets as well... With the Fla. Res. specials even in peak time it feels like it is value season...

Florida resident rates are usually better than AAA, but AAA is released for the whole year at one time (ex aug 2005 for all of 2006) and Fl resident rates are released with less notice.

The agents at Dreams Unlimited (the sponsers of this website) should be able to get the fl residents rate for you. Or book at the regular rate for you and switch it over if/when FL rates are released.
