First off Hello to everyone !Let me introduce myself... my name is Heather Joy and I live in Indianapolis, IN. I have used this board for a few months while planning my Oct trip and really enjoyed all the great tips and info, so finally I grew a brain and joined Disboard!
Disney History:
My First Trip to Disney was in 1987 (I was 6 years old) and it was Love at First Sight. Ihave to say I was very lucky to grown up in a home where we were able to go to Disney at least one a year. Well fast forward a few years and my parents seperated and my mom was not able to afford to take us children on vacations. But never once did my love for Disney fade!
A few years later I met the most amazing person my best friend Tina who also shared my love for Disney. To make things even better Tina had previously interned at Disney and had leftover tickets that she was will to share with me. July 2005 Tina and I went to Disney for a whole week...and she got to take me behind the scenes! I was given the chance to go into the costume area and see Tarzan getting fitted for his loin-cloth!Fast forward a few months and Tina accepts an offer to be a Costume Designer for Disney.... imagine how happy and proud I was of my bestfriend! Over the past 4 years I have been able to go to Disney once or twice a year. Being a college student I didnt have much funds, but with Tina living there my board was free and she always had tickets for me to use.... I know I am spoiled.
I have had the previlage to attend MNNSHP, P&P Party, and F&W.
Oct Trip:
I will be going to Disney Oct 22-25 (I wish I could be there longer but a new job doesnt give me many vacation days to work with) with my boyfriend Jason and staying at AKL. This is very exciting for us becuase I havent sayed on Disney Property for YEARS and this will be Jason's first trip!
Sorry this was long but I wanted to share my Disney past so others can understand my excitment. I truely believe I live a fairy tale life: I have a best friend who loves Disney, a boyfriend who cant wait to go and I was able to re-kindle the love I had with Disney all those years ago!
