New to DIS, not to Disney Pre trip & INTRO

Hello all! I am new to DIS, but certainly not to WDW. I have been to WDW about 15 times in my 30 years, starting at the old tree house villas, GF, CS, and All Star Sports. (I spelled that one out because the initials are rather vulgar ) I have a FREE, thats rite I said free trip planed for the week of Oct 20-25. My parents are soooo nice, they are taking me, DW, and 2 DSs to WDW for a week all expenses paid. I can't wait. I just recently found this forum and got hooked on a recent trip report from "punkin". I got so in to her report I read all 46 pages in one sitting...TWICE. She has inspired me to write my own report...Im sure it will not be as entertaining as hers, but entertaining non the less.

Let me introduce myself and my clan to you guys. I am a 30 year old Detective from VA. I am assigned to the SVU (yes like the tv show) so you may call me Stabler if you like. (Please don't...my name is Kevin) I am married to my wonderful DW Shannon. We have to boys, Tyler 10 and Corey 6. We have been to WDW 2 times before as a Family, once before Corey was born and once since with a Disney Cruise also. My DW is my polar opposite. She does not like Disney. She likes the rides, but does not get "geeked" like I do. I grew up going to WDW, and am a big, huge dork when it comes to the parks. I am a big tough cop, but I secretly listen to wishes on my ipod while I work out , I just kidding about that last part, but I hope your starting to see what a dork I am. Anyway, We are leaving in a few weeks, and I plan on reporting the entire trip back to you guys.

Well, it appears nobody is reading my pre trip, am i that boring

Anyway, i hope some people come aboard this forum because I am leaving in 3 weeks and will come back with a great trip report I hope.
btw, I bought a knome (like on the travolocity comercials) for us to take with us and photograph along the way.

Who knows what kind of trouble the knome will get us into!!...stay tuned.

Welcome to the DIS.
I saw the Tree Houses, when we took the Ferry from POR to DTD. We contemplated on staying there in 2000. I really wish we would of. Now the International Students get to live there.

No not boring.....but I've picked up a few things over the last month or so....

I am relatively new to the PTR forum and here are some things that have helped me out. I still don't have many people posting to my thread, but the ones that have are now friends. Really. It's wierd.:

1) Subscribe (post) in other people's pre trip/trip report threads. Showing interest in other people's PTR or TR will usually make them curious who you are and they will look for your PTR.

2) Providing a link in your signature. People can click on your link and go directly to your PTR.

3) Pictures. Pictures. Pictures. I am not very computer savvy. But once I figured out how to do post pics, there was no stopping me. People like pictures.

4) If you've noticed, there are OCD planners on this board. Knowing that there are others like us out there gives us some comfort. So posting your itinerary and every little detail about your trip will help feed our addiction

5) Update frequently. If you don't your thread drops from the 1st or 2nd page. People usually don't go past the 2nd page looking to read or post in threads. So try and keep your PTR updated....
