New to booking Christmas...do I need to do my home resort day to day at 11 months?

We've never tried to book a stay during Christmas week and I'm just wondering....is it necessary that I start booking day to day from the day of our arrival at our home resort? We looking at 12/23 - 1/1. So should I start booking on 1/23 day to day?

I have been a member since 1994 and have been to wdw for xmas week(the busiest time) at my homeresort OKW for the past 4 years and will be there this year. I have not had to call day by day reservations and feel that it is not necessary in most situations. If you want xmas week at WL, maybe, but it is really overkill to call MS everyday when calling for a complete booking @ 11 months is not a potential problem. It just clogs MS unneccesarily. Just m opinion, but built from many years of experience at dvc member.
