Hi! I am new to the boards, though not new to Walt Disney World. We go every year in Sept. (and are considering DVC for this reason), however, while surfing on Southwest, I found some pretty cheap airfare from Chicago to Orlando for the 28th of this month returning on the 1st of Jan. The problem is that as of now, I am told by Disney Reservations, AAA and online that every resort is booked. We would want a deluxe - preferably in the Epcot area, since that is where we would like our home resort to be, but would jump at any of them at this point. My question is, would you book the airfare now, so as not to lose the price and hope that sometime between now and then SOMEBODY will cancel their trip, or should I not book the airfare until I have a room. I know it's a busy season there, but I have to believe that not every person that has a reservation will keep it:confused3
Thanks in advance for your replies!

I wouldn't book the airfare in hopes of a deluxe hotel at Disney.

But I WOULD book the airfare if I didn't mind going to a fallback plan (like a moderate hotel, or off-site).

I agree with you...SOMEONE is bound to cancel SOMETHING...but probably less so at this time of year than others. Keep checking the sites and calling...and good luck!

Have you tried the Swan or Dolphin? Or one of the hotels near DTD?
Or have you tried Expedia or Travelocity? They get an allotment of rooms separate from CRO.

last year when we were unable to get another room at CBR thru all other channels, we were able to snag one thru www.lastminutetravel.com but we did have to pay rack rate...

i just did a quick check and they are showing deluxe savannah rooms at AKL (@$659/night), concierge rooms at AKL (@$798/night) and 2br villa at BWV (@$1389/night)...
