New to Board

I am new to board and wasn't able to get into the moderate resort I wanted so someone suggested that I try this board. I am not a DVC member, does this matter? Looking for something from April 3-8, 5 nights. We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 children (6,8) and 1 infant. Thanks.
