Maybe this is a stupid question to most of you...but I'm confused as to how when you call Disney you ask if you have a code associated with your name and they tell you??

Is this because you're already booked or have been there before? This will be my first time so I don't think they'll have my name??

If you go to Disney's site, there is a place to register...I think that's a good place to start.
Also, if you have been there before, your name is in their system. :goodvibes
No one really knows how you get "picked" for a code. :confused3

Ok. I have registered because I get the emails all the time...the "Disney Hello"s and things like that. So does this mean that they have my name somewhere and I could have a code and not know it?

I think it's possible...
It never hurts to call and ask...
The worst they can do is say, "No." I didn't receive any email or postcard, but when I called to book, I asked about a code and they told me that I had one. :thumbsup2

The only way I would have been in their computers would have been because of booking my ADR's, and I had a code.

Before you book on-line, or AAA, give them a call and ask. You never know.
